Yes, it is similiar to SNX. There are two key differences:

1) Perlin is using existing DeFi primities (think Balancer, Uniswap, Uma etc)
2) PERL is BOTH the liquidity and settlement asset of the system

PERLIN will be about establishing it's liquidity and utility in an exciting liquidity Dapp. You will be able to stake your PERL with assets, then lock up that collateral to earn more PERL. You can also later, mint virtual assets using PERL.

Which means the more it is used, the more *liquid* it gets, thus, minting can be become *more* efficient. Ie, you won't need 800% collateralisation - potentially you can reduct this to 150%, even lower, maybe even 110%.
