Thanks to Link I'm officially worth over 1.3m at the age of 27. Why am I so numb to it all? I remember when I broke 600k and I just about busted a nut. When I crossed into 7 digits I hardly even blinked.

Similar thing happened to me end of 2017. Luckily I cashed out half so made more money than I ever imagined by clicking buttons on my laptop at the age of 25. But I get that numb feeling, it's like...using cheat codes in a video game. Fun for a bit but the whole rules of the game are now broken so part of you feels numb. Don't need to study, or work, I look at people slaving away 45 hours a week and I just bought magic internet coins and made what they make in 10 years in 3 months. Just feels weird, but I have traveled a lot now and took up some fun hobbies, so life is great, just feels...off

I'm not in any rush, and if staking turns out to be as lucrative as people are hoping then I may never sell all of it, or even the majority of it. This situation very much feels like I'm some dipshit at a horse race that knows nothing about horse racing and somehow picked the winning pony. I'm maybe not giving myself enough credit because when I came to the realization that all other crypto projects directly or indirectly need LINK to work made it a safe horse to back, but the fact that it's paid off like this and I've had to essentially do nothing makes it feel kind of like a hollow victory. I have a similar issue and got multiple dreams of my death instead after I realized I finally reached my goal of becoming a millionaire.
I originally wanted this money to save myself from my work which was causing me multiple burnouts through the years, but after I changed my mindset for this goal I also solved my problems at work and it's more like a safety net now.

It's funny to think that most people in this world don't know what they really want, and I am still one of them.
If you give someone enough money to retire most of them would go crazy and try to find ways to spend that money as quickly as possible to go back to their slave work.

My current goal is to remember all my childhood dreams and to put some effort into making them a reality, even if I don't need money for most of them.
I am trying to communicate more with my subconscious and ask it for answers and support to decide for my future plans.

People are not born equal in their abilities.
Someone who has talent may be able to make something incredible and very valuable in a few days, while a hard working person may spend their whole life without ever reaching his level.
What you experienced is this truth applied to finance.
Your father did not use his strength appropriately and misunderstood the meaning of hard work.
Hard work improves something, but if you improve something with low value you won't get a lot more than this low value out of it.

The most important part of making it is changing your mindset to something completely different from normal people.
You probably don't realize the power this different mindset has on your life and your decisions, but it will have a great impact on your future success.

i think he's referring to your youth being almost over, which many people fetishize as being the pinnacle of life or some shit. I get what he's saying to an extent because I stress about entering my 30s while feeling like I haven't had all of the youthful experiences that I would have liked, or at least with the frequency I would have liked. Even though many of those experiences are able to be recreated at another age, it'll never be the same as when you were young. But that kind of thinking is also lame and gay, so I would take it with a grain of salt.

I think I can answer your question and I'm only going to post on this thread once.

I was the chap who back a couple years ago, towards the end of a January, posted on 4chan about being hacked and losing 85,000 Chainlink tokens. I lost all my crypto in that hack along with 5 years of hard work. It's almost hard to put into words how devastating the incident was to me.

What I learned from that experience is the answer to your question: Money is not what really matters in life. It seems like it is important, but really it is not. With or without it, your life is the same. Do not let it control you. Learn to enjoy life, the people around you and the time you spend with them. Do not focus on that which is not important, money.

Good luck Anon

I get the feeling a lot of you are walmart workers or low skilled labor. I work in tech and have never hated my job. Learning new skills and building things has always been fun for me. If you work a miserable job I can see how wanting to escape and "make it" would be a top priority. The reality is however even if you make a million, after you pay tax you're left with a lot less. 600k isn't enough to make it and with no skills you'll eventually end up back at square one. I saw so many people lose everything the last bull run because they always needed more to "make it" and so they never did.

so much this. without the external stimulation and recognition, most people will find financial freedom/independence much harder than you'd imagine. when you have to wage, the idea of being able to do whatever you want seems like paradise. but when it's been a reality for a while, and the freedom is no longer a novelty, having to generate your own meaning and purpose in life is no small thing, when nothing matters either way. be careful op. don't get over awed by money & wealth. if you feel nothing now, that's good & hopefully it will stay like that as your stack increases.

Money is wasted on you lot.

The real reason to why a lot of you feel like this, is because you've conflated money with existential value. Money is nothing more than a tool as a component of civilisation, the more you accrue the more mobility you have within civilisation.

Money reserves = less renting of your existence for income = freedom.

So the real question you should be asking yourself, is why you don't have anything to gravitate towards now that you have the ability to fulfil your existential self? Look at Maslow's hierarchy of needs.

Money cannot mask nor replace self-worth, it only acts as a catalyst at best.

If I had what you had, fuck me. I know what I'd be doing in a heartbeat and I wouldn't be stopping until I was dead. But that's because I know myself; my skill-set, my interests, and ultimately what I perceive to be my own purpose.

Read more, learn more. The more you expose yourself to knowledge, the more likely something will stick. Just don't become a money man where you think making more is the ultimate goal – it's vapid and you might as well be dead because that's not living.

Let me ask you then.
Why are you poor?

Something tells me it's because you did not go through what we did and still live for your fake social acceptation...
Maslow's pyramid is completely incorrect for someone who went through hell to be reborn as a new person free from his life of indoctrination.

The psychological need for prestige and feeling of accomplishment together with the need for belonging are the strongest forces blocking your way on being a real person free from society's lies.
Only when you give up trying to please everybody will you start to see what you really want.
But this takes a lot of trial and error and experimenting.

Reading a lot is only escapism without a clear goal, and will delay your goal of finding your life's mission.
Knowledge is useless by itself.
Only wisdom has value, and you won't find it in most books.

Good one. Say that to all of my bank accounts, stocks and shares, crypto and start up investments.

I spent last year semi-retired. I went on a whim to live on an island in SE Asia and then came back when I felt like it.

But yeah, I'm not a millionaire. Equally also not poor although I came from it. I live comfortably enough for now, I'll worry about that shit in my 30's.

I honestly don't understand how you guys have managed to come to your poor takes.

You do realise I'm advocating individualism by gaming a system being played by consensus/Game Theory and not to be tricked by the veneer and status of money while recognising its use when viewed purely as a tool? And you realise I'm advocating learning in order to find something that sticks, because it'll be you that will connect the dots – I'm not advocating dogmatic thinking. Wisdom is knowing you know nothing at all, and the more learn the more you realise you know fuck all and just how insignificant you are to the cosmos...if we wanna go there. I don't actually give a shit what my own parents think about me, why would I care about 'social acceptation'? I'm way past that.

Also can you not read? I don't know what I fucking want? I'm actually doing what I fucking want and I've been doing it since I was 14. I get paid to do what I fucking want with no boss in sight.

Stop projecting, the dissonance of your take is baffling. Do better.

If you were really a free person not focused on pure hedonism (SE Asia...) you would know the amount of money you have in your bank account is meaningless to an awakened person and all your possessions will be worthless once you are dead.

What you are advocating is hedonism, to keep your mind busy and prevent someone from realizing his true calling in life.

It's funny you say you don't care about social acceptation because your first argument was how rich you were:
>Say that to all of my bank accounts, stocks and shares, crypto and start up investments

Ever wondered why people who are dirt poor who became overnight multi millionaires (hundreds of millions $$) lose it all in less than 5 years? Or they die because they succumb to their vices that they can suddenly afford?

Excess of anything has the habit of being its opposite.
Because deep down you feel that you didn't earn it (i.e cheat code)

Don't worry though, its not your fault.
Society around you trades time for money and value meaningless personal sacrifice over productivity and personal happiness.

I worked as a labourer for 10 years, being together in shit work but in good company among your peers is something you cant really put a price on. But ill tell you, I dont regret my wealth. I dont regret not trading time for money. And its good you have this advantage now rather when youre older and you dont even know who you are and what gets you out of bed.

Ha, it was a direct counter to yours and other guy's assumption of 'why are you poor' which you seemed to base your argument on, hence used to refute. I wouldn't have raised it otherwise.

Second assumption is assuming I went to SE Asia out of hedonism. Are you guessing where I'm from, what my roots are, where I actually went? Want to ignore other possibilities of me taking a mental reset in a remote, untouched region? Want to ignore the possibility that I may be into Buddhism?

I don't think you're understanding my take on money at all. You've got the wrong end of the stick completely. It doesn't define me but I'm not so stupid to ignore the freedom it brings – i.e. being able to get out of the Western hell hole. The more financially independent you are, the more you're insulated from the outcomes of the state/the market/society, the more mobility you have and you're freer from the repercussions of others who are all acting in their own interests. The variable is the person using it and their outlook on money itself.

Also you keep trying to persuade me of an angle that is completely the wrong take. I'm telling you unequivocally that you have a wrong take with assumptions forming the bedrock of it.

If you really had wisdom, the recognition of ignorance would be at the forefront of what underpins your thinking and you would stop with this need to convince an anon of something they're not. You have no idea who I am, what I have done, what my belief system really is in practice.

One thing I'll admit, and have admitted to myself long ago, if I really could let go of money completely I'd be content with going to a monastery and spending the rest of my life tending to a Zen garden but I haven't been able to reach that form of Asceticism. But this extends over to you too, you're on fucking /biz/

Keep it moving. Do better.

Find a passion?
Hobbies are good..but you need to find something that drives you. Something you love to do.
I know exactly what I’m going to do if I ‘make it’.
Owning a business since I was 23 in 2013..I’ve ‘made’ $850k. But with very high overhead costs and taxes I have a net worth of somewhere around 200k. I was dumb. Real dumb. Bought shit to fill an empty hole inside of my soul.
When some drank/did drugs or slept around to cope, I’d buy shit. New trucks, cars, guns, an airplane (which I love and don’t regret.) etc
The biggest regret in life I have is not being smarter and investing all the money into crypto during 2017. I remember the night bitcoin blew up. Was working out alone and listening to a podcast. It was only 3 months ago I started into crypto. I’m hoping for Xrp to take off but who knows..

that's the point faggot, you did earn it. you got lucky given that this was based on you browsing 4chan, but how many normies are doing that, and how many people are actually making money on this shithole?

stop discounting yourself, almost no one rich actually 'earned' their wealth

I understand. I am going through the same, anon.
It's kind of weird. But at the same time it's kind of nice too. Today I sat in the park just looking at some skateboarders. Not a worry in the world. But can get boring sometimes.
I'm going to start focusing on exercising now. Swimming and surfing. Maybe build a van for surfing trips.

Also, take some lsd and some shrooms. It's pretty cool.

So what. Its not like you made 10 million and are set for life. 1.3 million is just a head start. You will still have to work.
