most people don’t understand that usd isn’t supposed to be held and have been deluded into thinking that there can and should be a magical asset that holds the same value indefinitely through time, and the fact that this impossible asset doesn’t exist is in their minds some kind of great human injustice

part of the problem is that wages are paid in usd when usd is a global unit of account, it has a completely different purpose than as a store of value, it is a unit of value transfer
