I got a warning from the mods this morning for replying to the anti-physical shill. They also caused /pmg/ threads to disappear for me all day. The APS has now changed his strategy to shilling for Naziism, in order to discredit us. He posted his usual "first for Hitler" comment, and was promoting Nazi ideology; I posted the usual information from Mises.org to counteract him. Let this be a lesson. If you answer him, you may get warned or banned yourself. If the moderators are actually deciding to do their job now, then simply report the APS and let them ban him; be wary of getting caught in the crossfire.

P. S. If anybody doubts that the Nazi-promoter and APS are the same, simply look at the writing style and the anti-semitism common to both. I archived all the shill's posts; here are a few random examples to prove this:

Yes buy the ones that are going to zero. Enrich shlomo

>Cant pay a $28 loan fee
>Brags about paying a $423 premium to shlomo

Monetary meaning it is used as money. People are referring to what metals have been used as money. All of them to some extent, but nothing close to gold and silver, and then copper for the poor. Has platinum coinage ever been used widely as a means of exchange? Just because a metal is precious or valuable doesn't mean it's suited for the role of money. Personally, when I think of platinum and palladium, I think of valuable industrial metals. Despite silver and gold also having industrial use, the majority of human history has seen them primarily used as money or decorative craftwork to display wealth.

>Has platinum coinage ever been used widely as a means of exchange?
Widely? Not really, only 4 million coins were minted. But it is still something. Other metals like tungsten, lead, haven't been minted at all. I get your point, aluminum was widely used as money in coins, but is industrial. Still somehow this "monetary metals" phrase seems false to me. Copper was used as money for maybe longer than gold. Using this phrase seems very dishonest.

>> No.21405696

What the Fed has done traditionally to lower yields is to change the fed funds overnight rate. That is short term only, but it influences yields of longer term maturity. QE was basically a limited attempt to impact longer term yields directly since the fed funds rate was already at zero. They said they would buy $X amount of bonds to put down ward pressure on longer term yields. YCC is QE infinity in that they have a rate target, not a dollar target. So they will print and spend whatever it takes to keep longer term yields below their target rates. Serious currency debasement.

The last time we did this was in the 40s and 50s, That is the last time we had a debt to GDP this high. Back then it was due to the depression spending and WWII. We inflated the debt away. Things are obviously different now, but they will be attempting to do the same thing this time to get the debt's real value to something more manageable.

This means hold physical gold and silver, but not as financial advice. If they are successful in this and they prevent a deflationary crash, it means all assets are going to moon in nominal terms. I think we may see DOW 60,000, but that doesn't mean the real value has doubled. Basically, assets are going up, wages and debt will be inflated down, and the wealth divide will widen even more.

For a precious metal to be a monetary metal it has to have a high stock to flow ratio. This means that the total supply will be stable and will not fluctuate much with changes in how much is mined or how much is used. Only good and silver have this property. And really, gold is significantly better than silver.

This video explains more why platinum and palladium are not money.

I don’t know about you all... but because of Corona this is the first time since college that I’ve felt alive. I have lots of link and been waiting for something like this to happen for 3 years. The point where things get so bad that .01 link will buy me a blowjob from a formerly well to do housewife and her 18 year old daughter at the same time. I’ve been waiting in the shadows laughing at these cuck husbands who buy their wives range rovers instead of buying link... knowing that I’ll be face fucking their wives mouths for the 12.5c it cost me to buy that link.

Just yesterday at Whole Foods I seamlessly entered into conversation about Corona with a roastie milf that had a ring on her finger in the water aisle... and I said this is all a cover for trump to bring us back on a chainlink standard. She started looking at me in amazement like she wanted me to paint her lips in cum. At the end of the conversation I’m like take my number l have plenty of protection and freeze dried food if you ever need it and she took it from me.

We're in a debt trap. We literally cannot service this debt above basically zero interest rates. In December of 2018, after the Fed had been upping rates, rates rose to 3% and crashed the market. After which the Fed reversed course cutting rates and restarted QE. Since then with Corona and bad structural deficit issues, the debt has gotten significantly bigger. We have 2 options at this point: 1) default or 2) inflate it away. Default would crash the everything bubble so they are going with option 2 and we will see steep negative rates.

As for market corrections, I don't know. Their goal is to prevent that at all costs and to keep it inflated...even if that's by currency debasement. So if they are successful, we probably don't see another correction. If they are mildly successful, maybe there's another dip and then back off to the races. If they fail, it's bad. I can't predict the future, but I think it's safe to say they are going to throw everything at keeping it inflated and they have more tools than anyone when it comes to manipulating the market.

The woman in Michigan who was defending herself from a feral nigger not letting her leave a restaurant in peace because of the crime of brushing up against one of them while walking past them. Arrested and her husband lost his job.

George Floyd, a criminal who died of a heart attack induced by a drug overdose (official cause of death from the coroner, later revised after political pressure because "white man bad") causing nation-wide rioting over a false narrative that blacks are held down by white society. Murder charges against the cops

The white couple who came out to defend their property when BLM thugs broke down the gate to their community were arrested and disarmed for protecting themselves against known violent rioters.

That's just he last three months, dude. How can you not see what's going on?

K so, gonna do some light shilling for SLV:

>Trust claims ownership of 571mil oz of silver held by custodian
>they're audited asfuck because they're exchange traded SEC cares verymuch
>Odds of their lying about their holdings are less than likely
>Their custodian vaults are required to keep insurance on the physical silver which means the trust, the insurers, and the custodians auditors are all interested in being sure their outstanding receipts match their physical inventory
>Odds of the vault taking deliveries and then either duplicating and selling ownership rights or the physical silver out the back door are extremely slim
>PSR probably due for the most part to derivative trading, and the vaults won't be held responsible for this
>Trust owns ~93% of the silver necessary for an oz per share
>Shares trade at about 93% spot

The trust won't replace physical in the case where the internet goes down, laws are eschewed, and so on, but if you're not better on 100% collapse then SLV would theoretically not be affected by the PSR reckoning, and will lower your cost basis.

You give central banks power when you submit to Keynesianism. The gold standard takes power away from the bankers. It puts it all in the hands of the people. The precise reason why Hitler abolished gold is because he wanted to tyrannize over his subjects.

"In the absence of the gold standard, there is no way to protect savings from confiscation
through inflation. There is no safe store of value. If there were, the government would
have to make its holding illegal, as was done in the case of gold. If everyone decided, for
example, to convert all his bank deposits to silver or copper or any other good, and
thereafter declined to accept checks as payment for goods, bank deposits would lose their
purchasing power and government-created bank credit would be worthless as a claim on
goods. The financial policy of the welfare state requires that there be no way for the
owners of wealth to protect themselves.
This is the shabby secret of the welfare statists' tirades against gold. Deficit spending is
simply a scheme for the confiscation of wealth. Gold stands in the way of this insidious
process. It stands as a protector of property rights. If one grasps this, one has no difficulty
in understanding the statists' antagonism toward the gold standard."

- Alan Greenspan, Gold and Economic Freedom

Craig Hemke knows the silver-market better than any man alive, which is why he was able to predict silver's rise from $18 to $29 only a few days before it happened:

Hemke said only a few hours ago, in a conversation with Eric Sprott, that SLV is a scam without the silver which is said to back it. Eric Sprott agreed.

The inflows into SLV are simply impossible. Chris Marcus interviewed dozens of insiders in the silver and mining industry for his book "The Big Silver Short," and, when he would ask how many paper owners there were for each real ounce of silver, he never got an answer lower than 500.

As Alasdair Macleod said yesterday, if you don't either hold your bullion in your own hands, or have it allocated or segregated in a private vault, you are going to get wiped out when the COMEX defaults within the next few months.

The coins that trade at a discount are coins from like the late 90s that aren't shiny and new anymore and at the same time haven't yet acquired a numismatic premium or at least much of one.

I have about 60k cash in my 401k that I can't withdraw to buy physical because I would have to pay too much in taxes. What's the best stock to buy for silver exposure? Not looking for miners.

>> No.21411932

Is it even worth it to buy silver and gold right now with the prices so high? I really wish I bought some when silver was at 18 dollars awhile ago.

Miners, or transfer your 401k into a physical PM IRA

>> No.21411956

See that’s the thing. Is more stimulus bullish or bearish for metals and miners? You could make an argument either way. It seems to prop up stocks, people feel more confident about the economy so there’s less fear, which is bearish for metals. Yet, it digs the hole even deeper, which is bullish for metals in the long term. Perhaps it simply presents a better short term entry position for a long hold on metals.

Silver doesn't "rust away" or "disappear" like iron does.
You just need to polish it, you dingus. If it doesn't immediately return to it's former glory it's because your silverware is actually silver-coated copper/brass. And once the silver coat has been worn out the brass will oxidize and look like shit.

Silver, yes, as there’s still so much room for it to run up. And it’s always worth buying gold, always. Even if you lose some short term equity, gold is as safe as it gets long term.

they're heavily leveraged and a deflationary shock looks highly likely right now, as we are entering the second dip in the W-shaped recovery

Congress, just like in the mortgage crisis of 2007-2009, is going to let millions of americans default and be foreclosed on, so they and their friends can buy up cheap real estate and consolidate power in the hands of those with the most assets.

A serious shock to the price of miners could trigger a wave of defaults in the silver miners. The metal will only dip and rise. The miners go bankrupt, and there's no coming back from that.

fine silver will only tarnish this is true but metals in alloy'd silver like sterling can absolutely rust.
>Although the pure silver in sterling silver does not react and tarnish at room temperature, the copper added can easily react with the salt and sulfur in the air, making sterling silver rust

>> No.21413456

Yeah, it's an easier long term hold. Agreed. I think it's questionable things will get as bad as people say here desu, but if you look historically it's good to hold PMs. They do appreciate when you look in the scope of decades (albeit not as fast as stocks lately, but who knows what the future holds), and it's a great long-tail hedge against the worst.
