>You do realise that officially the US economy is down something like -38% from Jan to Jun
That's an inflated number imo, and we should probably be looking for Q3 adjusted corp profits for the severity of the damage and Q4 for the direction we're headed
>we've printed 3 or 4 trillion at the Fed which is 20% of GDP.
Is simplistic, but you're right and it's going to be 4T of inefficiently allocated capital. The inefficiency is the more irritating and threatening part for the collapse of USD. It trickles out if the corps don't go BK. If they go BK, then it's a socialized burden over time. I'm not downplaying the extent of the damage and headwind and the looming issue of solvency, but it's not an "immediate" collapse and it would likely be drawn out over time.
>It's obvious the printing isn't going to stop and my stupid guess is the more the Fed prints the smaller the GDP will get
I think they're correlated, but I'm going to guess is that the federal reserve will only be stepping in for yeilds to keep the markets functioning.

mmk so

combined valuation of gold/silver is like $3.7trillion

using the old combined total of non-derivative assets from the demonocracy inverted pyramid there's $551.9trillion in assets in current-ish doll hairs

if all the money buys all the assets, and gold assumes the role of money, then gold and silver, in some GSR distribution, would overall 148X, the nitty gritty of localized spending power and asset overvaluation notwithstanding.

Any gold kept in a vault in the US the govt could get to though, and only something like 14% of people own any gold, and most of that is in vaults, not safes. So if the govt decides to hit the inflation brakes they'll just confiscate what's in the vaults and tie the dollar to it again. They'll make private ownership illegal but won't really care. So I doubt PMs will assume the role of money.

You can look at GDX for less risk/reward. You are only in the juniors, which are definitely very undervalued right now. You can pick up either GDX and/or buy components of it to get some bigger miners. The reason you may buy GDX AND a few of the components separately is that you could get exposure to the majors while then increasing exposure to specific companies that you look at and like. Barrick is still an undervalued buy even after the Buffett bump. I like Yamana even if it's a bit pricey. But right now, miners in general are just very under valued and even the majors should see huge gains. Too many investors are not looking at the macro picture and are skeptical of the gold and silver prices. They think we are heading back down and these prices won't last. We see it differently, so we have the advantage of buying mining stocks priced for $1,800 gold /$18 silver knowing they are about to become insanely profitable.

If gold gets to $10k the market is over. This has nothing to do with anything you've mentioned. There would be a pretty big near unsolvable mess with a market that stops functioning and a USD that is not accepted for payment in most of the world. I've already said the super computer says gold will top out at $5k - that price is not crazy. I'm not advocating gold to $65k or beyond. And, as it looks, though gold and silver are bullish it doesn't look like it will get to that $5k peak in the next 5 years. But, if it did get to $10k it would be money. It's that simple. It has nothing to do with trying to fit the worlds financial assets into gold/silver – that's a nonsensical comparison. And at those high prices sure the government will try to get the gold but it's not going to mean they will get it. Big money will end up in equities - stonks to the moon and the real economy into the ground. On a longer time scale it's certain we are going to hard money, as I've said. If gold and silver are in that I have no idea but I do not see a USD crypto as a good alternative or even an acceptable alternative, at least as something everyone wants.

Even if you don't see gold and silver taking the place of the USD (money) it's been better than money. The USD is toilet paper for the world. If the USD was really worth something people wouldn't e so keen to use it. Imagine send gold and silver to china for toxic clothes and toys and shitty stuff. Giving us a pressure relief valve is the easiest way for elites to deal with intelligent and ambitious truth-seers. It's just the cost of doing business for them that we get our cut. It's even possible that they see us getting a cut as a good thing for their racket since we can potentially utilize capital for growth better than they can.

For the last couple years I've checked jeweler shops for gold chains and pendents. Normally the chains are priced high - I've never found anything close to spot. But, I have found a few times small religious pendents at under spot (gold). And normally those are around a 1/10th oz or a little larger. I'm not sure if this would appeal to most people though - as I'd never sell them though I might give them as gifts. I haven't checked eBay for such a thing but it might be worth looking out for.

Fellow /pmg/ bros. Today I was discussing with an old normie friend about economics and I was talking him about precious metals and how they are currently underpriced. How the dollar has slowly collapsed through the years and how China and many more countries are trading oil in gold currency.

Then he told me why not just buy diamonds, they are much rarer and more expensive.

He caught me by surprise, I have been a stacker for a couple of years and never thought about diamonds. Does anyone here stack them? Are they just a meme by De Beers? Did their monopoly really end?

Diamonds are more common than gold for their value. De Beers has been actively suppressing the supply to keep prices high along with their bullshit ad campaigns about "3 months salary" brainwashing the roasties into thinking they need then.

As the other anon said, they are literally made in the lab. Synthetic diamonds are exactly the same thing as mined diamonds, if not more pure. Essentially they're a modern meme of value in the literal sense. No one gave a shit about them until De Beers marketing ramped up in the 40s and 50s.

They are rare and sometimes it's a pain in the ass to get them in the quantity you need. Growing them in a lab is a meme and is a huge PITA to do cost effectively.

Their qualities as a store of value sucks balls compared to PMs. They aren't divisible or fungible, they are a pain in the ass to grade, and there isn't any history or infrastructure for using them as a store of value commodity. I'd sooner stack ammo, honey, or condoms than I would diamonds.

the orange dirt and dust is iron oxide, and its part of the reason that australia's so rich in massive gold. eons ago large amounts of gold rich fluids made their way into banded Iron formations and other heavily mineralized structures. These structures weathered away slowly but the gold rich structures remained and weathered into insane placer deposits. Other areas the gold dissolved and recrystallized into the massive nuggets you see these fellows holding.

Best kind of correct.

Was just researching the wikipedia page on diamonds:

>Approximately 130,000,000 carats (26,000 kg) of diamonds are mined annually
>About 100,000 kg (220,000 lb) are synthesized annually

That makes around 126 tonnes of diamonds per year, when gold extracted yearly is around 4000 tonnes.

>The boundary between gem-quality diamonds and industrial diamonds is poorly defined and partly depends on market conditions (for example, if demand for polished diamonds is high, some lower-grade stones will be polished into low-quality or small gemstones rather than being sold for industrial use)

Both industrial and minned diamonds can be either jewelry and industrial. So not really useful if you can somewhat make them from scratch.

I just want to remind everyone how shit fucked is. Super computer says: even if Trump wins... USD is going down into 2022 all the way to 2032. If the faggot AOC type club wins, the Western economies are over in 2022. Our time to prepare is either very short or kinda not short but even with Trump winning there are at least 2 years of the same volatility as this year and 3 with almost double the volatility... by 2030. Basically 2020 in years to come will be seen as a calm year. 2021 will mostly be fine but people will see .gov has lost control regardless of election outcome. 2022 will be maximum carnage. I'm fucking worried guys. I'm really really worried. This last week spent with super computer has me worried. And it's not like super computer really said something different than 10 years ago... it's scary because it basically says the exact same thing. Fuck I would really love those last 10 years back.

after ww1 the currency went to shit, but in the 1960s de gaulle wanted a strong currency so made the new franc = 100 old francs and made some of the coinage out of silver (5, 10, and 50 francs)
pic stolen from ebay related, except the 50 centimes, which was before 1920

You can hire a metal detector there. But, keep in mind this post >>21680779 I'm not even joking. It would seem 2021 might be the final year for a few years to get to do such a thing. 2026 and 2028 look ok but they are not 2019. You talk about not getting welding rods... yeah... imagine that all the fucking time and the price x10.

The only upside if Trump wins is that there will be a rally in the USD. But it will not last, i.e. it's going down in 2022. But this is not going to be a benefit for the US economy. fml

>How have you been making it? Standing at the corner?
I lived a maximum reductionist life beforehand, but over the last few weeks I've started to feel the squeeze. For example, I've been trying to get into /fit/for the last year, but I'm kind of at a ways since I can't afford any more food, so I'm just kinda stuck at 1500kCal maximum a day. I want to bulk up, but I'm stuck at this faggy pre-ottermode state.
'First world' west yuro btw. Crash can't come soon enough, last few years for me on /biz/ is a real case example of it taking money to make money; I'm all in on PMs specifically because there's no Robinhood equiv over here (ie, accessbile to the stcok market without finding some snidey way to fuck you over), so getting into stocks and miners and all that is literally too much money for me.

i ll have to weigh my options, Aus would be amazing, and I have friends in Queensland that I could bunk with til i found a rental place. If I cant go to Aus this year, I am likely going to be spending my winter in the opposite hell of Yellowknife...
