Well I don't exactly enjoy generic promotions but if other coins are going to start their own threads I guess it whittles down to basic competition. But anyway..

For those of you interested in cryptocurrencies, I urge that you look into digitalcoin, DGC. I'll keep it short and simple:

- 10 months old, launched May last year and regularly holds 5-10 BTC volume on cryptsy. Clearly not disposable pump n dump.

- Currently ~10% total supply in circulation with no premine/instamine, so it will remain relevant to miners and current bagholders don't have complete domination of the market.

- VERY active dev support with regular, flawless wallet updates based on the community's voice. The dev behind this coin is seriously the most professional/dedicated I've found thus far (asides from the BTC core dev team)

- $USD trading through CryptoAve.com exchange, which was also created by the developer. Again, proof of the developers competence (he's even attracting others, one of which made a lightweight wallet. Only other coin with a light wallet is BTC.)

- It's currently touching its all time low (then again so are most altcoins).

So now you've heard this through all the shitcoin hype. If anyone has any questions I'd be happy to respond, or you can join #digitalcoin on freenode and talk with us directly. Thanks for reading my message.

Oh wow, not even touching this.

Shill less, OP. We're all burnt out on cryptos here. And try to pique curiosity rather than shilling harder than you've ever shilled. No one will fall for it.

the reason i'm doing this is because i genuinely love cryptocurrencies, and I'm pissed off that the seemingly most honest one is being drowned out by shitcoin hype. and before you ask yes I obviously own some. if you're gonna troll at least put some effort into it.

The most fair coin out there is probably the Credits one that has threads on here, and look where that is. Nobody wants your shitty "muh fairness" coins, can you get that through your head? And your website is shit, I thought your dev was good.

That would be none of them. Not even bitcoin. It's all a game of greater fool, and the greatest fools shill their beloved altcoin as The Next Big Coin. Every altcoin trends downward given enough time.

bitcoin can at least be used as a currency, all these alt coins, they exist for no other reason but for the same reason penny stocks exist

Best post so far, however I wouldn't be quick to underestimate this new technology. bitcoin has a very real chance of exploding even further while outlining the rampant corruption within our current financial system.

I just bought digibyte.

It's also "digital".

and offers nothing at this stage that DGC doesn't...except potential.

>current bagholders

Yeah that's the best way to sell this to people.
Call you fellow inmates "bagholders"

well that's just not correct OP

Still feel there is room for improvement in bitcoin transaction speed and security, but don't expect anything other than bit and litecoin plus a handful of alts to survive past 2014. Overall we're still in the investor phase of bitcoin before the public mania sets in once these systems go fully public.

Actually, what's DGC's current hashrate/difficulty?

I'll put DGC on my list of "pay attention to" altcoins.

...which is a pretty big list right now.

>> No.217507

Well I'll admit i didn't know, which other coins have one? Was it forked from digitalcoinj?

I find it hard to believe digibyte has this kind of support behind it. I'm not trying to get people to buy into a pump, I just want to give adequate competition for the coin I trust in this obnoxious (and scammy) environment.

>> No.217514

Yeah i wasn't really trying to sound as harsh as i came across.
I won't push money or hashrate into it but i'm not against it either.

Doge has a light wallet. Forked from multibit.

~400mh/s right now, it went down with the price. Understand that this is an older altcoin, there's nothing to really hype about it.

>Forked from multibit.

There are rumours of one or two other popular coins having light wallets in alpha too.

But obviously mentioning those rumours would just be seen as shilling.

You can polish shit as much as you want, but at the end of the day you're still putting money into a crypto penny stock. If you think dgc will trend up in the near future then just buy in and wait, but don't advertise it like it's the future of cryptocurrencies when there's nothing remarkable about it just like the thousand other shitcoins out there. Even vertcoin did something novel and it's been falling ever since it came out.

Alts are only good for pumping and dumping to expand on how many bitcoins you own. Someday we'll get bitcoin 2.0 and it will work as bitcoin was intended and not like the basis for an internet commodities market, but none of the alts right now will be it. 99% of them will not survive the end of the year. Never hold alts long term. Fair warning.

>> No.217528

Yeah have to agree. It doesn't matter how honest or fair the coin is. This coin just doesn't really offer anything especially since it is 10 months old.
Credits may be the one up with the big boys in coming time.

>> No.217544

>>217527
>Someday we'll get bitcoin 2.0

Basically this.

Altcoins are all still learning.

Good ideas get copied then shilled then made worthless through copy-paste shitcoins.

But people still remember why they were good ideas.

Hopefully we'll start seeing coins that amalgamate more of the good ideas.

>Alts are only good for pumping and dumping to expand on how many bitcoins you own.

I don't totally agree with this, i still think they are a great testbed for ideas. It's just that the market's they hold are undeserving of the money they receive.

>Never hold alts long term.

I'd expand this to include bitcoin personally. But that's more my personal philosphy on how i treat cryptos rather than any indication of where i think the BTC price is going.

>> No.217549

>>217514
well shit, doge does have a light wallet. digitalcoin was the first to have ported multibit but that doesn't really matter anymore.

>>217527
These are things on my mind as well, but I have a much harder time discounting the domino effect that could happen with bitcoin, seeing as two major companies have already embraced it, along with the fact some *countries* are interested in adopting it as well.

>>217528
People want reliability, to be frank I am blown away by the developers spirit. If you're saying DGC couldn't make it then Credits wouldn't make it either.
