This is somewhat incorrect as RE is a large factor in setting rates and their price should also be employed in setting prices measurements for PMs, miners, and wages. that said, back to shiny.

arguably, it's a better time to buy gold than silver. I think it's a coin toss.
>20oz silver
If i had no gold and only 20 oz of silver, I'd probably want to have another 20oz of silver instead of gold, unless you found a good deal for fractional or that 20 franc, I'd stick to silver. I think i got my first piece of gold after 80oz of silver and it was a 1/4 eagle. The next piece of gold was after another 60oz of silver. Not sure what other anons might have to say.

I did coin roll hunting in a couple stints from January 2018 to June 2019, and then a little more this year, finally giving up on it when my bank cut me off. Wound up using the $500 currency to buy ASEs at the LCS.

This year was a complete bust for silver, as the coof fucked with things, and my bank also must've been getting coin from a different source as they has a different type of wrap paper.

Things were much different with the first run, though. I found at least two entire rolls of 40% Kennedys (1965-1970 and some 1976-S proof coins), as well as pretty much an entire roll of 90% 1964 Kennedy halves, with one 1992-S 90% proof Kennedy half.

It's out there, and even today there's people finding boxes loaded with 90%, but it depends on where you are, and where you bank. You'll also have to deal with the logistics of returning your clad to another bank — you don't return clad to the same place you got it.

Precisely what Anon >>21847290 said. Boomers and early Gen-Xers got theirs and kicked the ladder out from under them to keep anyone from later generations from climbing up after them, and now don't even have the common decency to leave anything for their kids. Millenials (and those of us who are on the Gen-X/Millenial border) are going to be the first in centuries to be less wealthy than their parents.

>>21847384
So, you know we've been fucked from every angle — by your generation, no less — yet all you can do is sit there and say "pull yourself up by the bootstraps". Kindly fuck off and remember that phrase was coined as an example of a literally impossible task.

Everyday of my life, I thank God above that all my grandparents were the last of the Silent Generation, and displayed nothing but contempt for what would become the 'boomer' generation for being weak, fat, unadaptive, and pampered. They watched in disgust as people who should have known better refused to look after their children or even their grandchildren, debauched themselves to no end, and made their parents ashamed of them. They were stunned to realize how many of them left absolutely no legacy behind; not even a library room named for them.

If only Corona really was the boomer-remover we were promised.

Just picked up Mr. Cheewonwang here.
Keep the thread about PM's!

"One of the consequences of the liberties afforded by fractional reserve banking is a suppression in the silver spot price [relative to fiat]. Modern silver markets are buyers markets, probably because over 50% of the yearly demand is industrial (whereas for gold it is sub 8%), so the majority shareholder’s preferences are reflected (those of industrial buyers).

On the civilisational scale, our desire for cheap stuff has overridden our ability to value our own labour.

Whereas 1 ounce of silver could have got you 4 cows in the Viking age, you’d need about 45 ounces of silver for just one cow today! Ouch!

The past 1000 years have seen a near-unilateral depreciation of the gold-silver ratio. It was 8:1 in the Viking era, dwindling to 15:1 in the United States of America in the year 1792. The 20th century average ratio was 47:1 and it has recently exceeded 110:1 (although more recently has settled back in the 80:1 range)."

Why? If I want a key date, ill get a slabbed coin for sure. I mean, im confident in my grading skills but sometimes the slab is an investment in and of itself.

I LOVE buying coins for dirt cheap that are already in slabs. When I buy a MS 66 FB Mercury Dime for the price it takes to have it slabbed it’s just great. You have to love the coin for what it is though. Sure, its only 2 dollars worth of silver, but if its in a population of 1000 and over 50,000,000 were minted, you can know you have something truly special.

Numismatists have demonstrated they are willing to spend millions on this hobby, it really is a market in and of itself. Look at the trends regarding basically any key date.

Why? If I want a key date, ill get a slabbed coin for sure. I mean, im confident in my grading skills but sometimes the slab is an investment in and of itself. Sometimes these fuckers ask for too much of a premium, thats for sure, but grades are grades and the companies that assign them hold weight when it comes to them. Its a different ball game.

Simple answer is, I usually can't afford slabs. I've wanted to get a few slabbed coins, but it comes down between buying one slabbed coin or a bunch of cheaper stuff that I still find numismatically interesting. You've inspired me somewhat, maybe next time I head down to the LCS I'll buy one of the slabbed seated dollars I've had my eye on.

There is an aesthetic sense here that while most people dont appreciate, a select few do, and some of these fuckers have a drive and passion to obtain and complete sets that transcends normal behavior.

For example - I paid 200 dollars for this Mercury Dime.

Is it a particularly rare date? No, MS67 specimens abound for 1944 S, however, it is an FB (full bands) coin, meaning the strike is exceptional. In person she is an absolute beauty, a near perfect specimen.

Then we look closer and see it is an FS-501 repunched mint mark error. Well so what, who gives a fuck? Me personally? I dont really, BUT, this coin is in a population of around 20, with only 3 finer. I personally believe this coin is towards the higher end of that population by the way (gonna go for CAC).

My point here is that this coin, to an overdate variety collector in the future, will be an absolute must have. The cream of the crop, a majestic, perfect beauty, fitting for a PERFECT collection.

The only other specimen of this quality on Ebay currently is going for 675 last I checked. Sometimes I ogle at it, the near perfect fields, the bright white luster and near perfect strike. What a miracle it survived all this time almost completely unscathed.

One day, some rich bastard will want it for his fucking MS67/68 perfection collection and perhaps I will sell it for 10x what I paid. Only time will tell. For now I just will just enjoy it myself.

Moral of the story? HOLD.

I deal in territorial, state, and merchant coins and tokens. I buy and sell on ebay. Exonumia. The market has extraordinarily deep pockets, it's not uncommon for a highly desirable token to sell for as much as a new corvette. But most of it has dozens of collectors rather than thousands. It's too niche. Too rare. So rare the price drops to almost nothing.

extremely high profit margins, but extremely low sales volume.

I just think the tokens are so much more niche than traditional US coins (Mercs, Walkers, Busts, etc) but I do think theyre still cool as hell. I just think selling a Merc in a population of 20 will be easier than selling an extremely rare, nearly unknown token. Just look at the PCGS/NGC set registries for yourself, there is a market for these coins.

My strategy now is to nab as many key dates as possible for solid deals when the Boomer coin collectors die and their children sell all of their shit in no reserve auctions on Ebay.

In the end we are paying premiums for rare shit, but it pays off in the long haul imo.

Watches aren't a clear cut store of value. Some brands/models appreciate quite a lot like Rolex Daytonas, but trying to find the next watch that moons is mostly like any form of gambling. On the other hand all Rolexes have increased in price and the more high end models have experienced artificial scarcity created by dealers. Buying in now would be foolish imo, because you're betting that the demand for luxury goods will rise.
To reiterate the premium on Rolexes has increased greatly in the last 20 years and they're increasingly becoming out of reach of their intended demographic, that is middle class boomers. You decide if you want to get into that. Rolex is trying to re-brand itself as a true luxury brand like AP or Patek and that simply won't happen imo

Dont want to start derail but from last thread:

Renting out property is smart but also could only be profitable in this Jew system of debt as money. Landlords borrow to rent out a house they do not own, so if I rent a place for 1000 dollars a month, I could just rent it out for 1200, and why shouldn't they rent it out for 1500? There are rental clauses against this but it is literally the same thing the landlord is doing. They "generate passive income" but instead of owning a business or producing something the only thing they did was borrow money from a Jewish banker and getting a fellow gentile to pay the interest for him. Shitty behavior all around.

There are housing shortages in so many areas because of this perverse incentive to have small amount of people buy up all the property with money they don't have and results in people never being able to save enough to purchase for their own.

The only cure is for this entire system to burn to the ground

As soon as you realize the agenda is always destroying white societies and people then it all makes absolute perfect sense. The cages this was a lie to destroy a Republican administration, since the far left that controls so much and wants to remove white people form existence and history think Republicans are the more pro white alternative. Some Seikos have increased in value after being discontinued like the SKX007/009/013 or the SARB017. Those models are also widely shilled on Youtube/Reddit and other similar outlets.
But the fact is that there are still plenty of those watches and the Seikos from the 70's/80's aren't even that expensive so it likely won't moon ever.
Tissot belongs to the Omega group and is generally considered swisshit that is watches that cost 10$ to make in China and are sold as Swiss for insane markups. Most mid-range swiss companies fall into this sector, not counting their vintage watches before they went bankrupt, were bought out and turned simply into a brand name. The watches that have value in the collectors market generally have to have actual value and as much of it as possible has to be done by the company itself.
50's/60's Omegas themselves have actually quite increased in price in the last 10 years or so. Also authentic Soviet Union watches are becoming rarer as all kinds of fakes and frankenwatches are pumped out by ebay sellers. However Soviet watches don't really have a mainstream appeal and distinguishing fakes requires some autism that the mainstream (Reddit) don't possess, hence I doubt they'll appreciate any time soon.
Pic related my slavshit dresswatch, the smallest mass produced Soviet movement and covered in a thin layer of literal gold, though it's too thin to be worth anything. Had to wait for a month or so on ebay to get one that was authentic in a satisfactory condition

You're in a pretty good situation minus your job, but that's most people - especially this year.
I was thinking family more in regards to starting one, but that's good too. Interest in buying a home in the next 5 years?
It felt great to pay off the mortgage, and in a way your student debt is the same thing.

There are 2 conservative routes I'd examine if I were you. There is a fanboi club that would say to take out a massive loan and go all in PM, and anything else is retarded b/c the world is going to collapse and the dollar is dead and ...
1. Pay the minimum on the debt and allow inflation to make what's owed negligible.
You should be smart enough. Run the numbers. Interest paid minus inflation.
2. Free yourself from the chains and go all in PM.
It's all a crap shoot as to what is going to happen in the next few years - nobody knows, especially nobody here.
I'd probably continue to pay down the debt and focus on turning your crypto and stocks into a large down payment in case houses go on sale in 1-4 years.
PM are a hedge against inflation which have had extreme movements recently and we're all conflicted as to if they'll go down or up.
At your age you have to be gutsy and roll the dice. If you want more even tempered advice, check out the kitco forums. They're an older audience with many of the same beliefs here, only they've been preaching it for decades. And sorry about your dad.

If you were tackling debt quickly, I'd divert some to disability and to a limited amount of term life. Your debt will obliterate your Mom if you die or get crippled early, even if we hyperinflate. add the remainder of your take home to your PM position. See if you can cut costs on your phone bill or internet for more. once your income goes up, throw more toward those shitty loans and metals. Since your loan payments are so large, I wouldn't dig too deep into that cash fund. Consult with a fiduciary for a better sense of your options and actual advice.

ah yes this is the one I got had to find a pic since I'm out of town. Honestly I love mechanical watches more than I love some of the alternatives. It's really fascinating to me the technology watchmakers have had throughout the years and how we were able to tell time well before computers and electricity were the way they are. I have one of those Seiko 5 watches as well that I swapped the beige strap out for a leather band and it's a great looking watch for the price.

They should be MORE profitable, but if you don't hold it, you don't own it. They could be nationalized and they also lag spot price. To better hedge my bets a year from now, I've obtained enough physical to feel comfortable averaging into miners.
