BAT News. - Don't post your referral link you shill edition.

Updated MAU: 18.3 Million - Increase of 1.6 million over the course of a month.
Updated DAU: 6.1 Million

80 BAT is the maximum each user can now hold if distributed equally.

In other interesting news, SUSHI has overtaken the market cap of BAT. I don't know what SUSHI is, only that it is shilled relentlessly on here.
My BAT hands are getting weak. Don't let each other capitulate.

first off: i love brave. i love the concept of bat.

you know in my previous job i worked as IT support for a vc firm. i got to know a little about their methodology. essentially its what you already know.....if you can get $10m customers it actually doesn't even matter if your profitable or not, just having 10m active customer is worthwhile.

if you get 10m active customer AND you have built out your own advertising platform. Even better!

if you built out your own ad platform AND its getting CTR 4x industry average. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!

There is no way, if this product was taken to a vc firm right now, it would be valued at anything less $3-5B. Realistically would be 7B or so.

So that begs the question: What the fuck is wrong here?

>> No.22114640

>>22114562
Yeah you can buy more. Its the maximum each user could hold if commies came and stole everyones batties off each other and allocated them evenly to everyone that uses the browser. You might find that some people are holding 1m BAT, and others 3 BAT. That 80 number just demonstrates how little each person could hold if it were just to be evenly distributed.

Of note though is that BAT is one of, if not the most diluted cryptocurrency in existence already.

>> No.22114745

>>22114608
Mate you sound like you should have those answers for us.

From what I've heard - which could all be complete bullshit - is that the price is maintained by selling adverts out of the UGP rather than market buying BAT thus changing the price?

Also they don't really do much advertising of Brave or BAT - its sort of had its own organic growth through people that know about Eich and his history. For example, the NANO cryptocurrency has 52k members of its subr*ddit. Brave only has 45k. Whens the last time you thought about or even used NANO?

Brave also building the SDK to allow publishers to implement adverts and other BAT transactions on webpages.
Brave also building the self serve ad platform so anyone can buy adverts and not have brave manually onboard each campaign
Brave is also allegedly building a youtube alternative or program that strips youtube down and builds upon it

all valid points.

eich needs to hire someone with market maker abilities to lead his token initiative. its admirable that he is trying not to get the stink of being a PnD on his love-child, but the problem is now that firefox is collapsing they WILL come after Braves market. Either that or they will be end-run by google themselves.
Eich needs to realize he doesn't have 2 years of runway anymore. This needs to turn into a viable ecosystem SOON or he's going to get clipped and when the competitors show up he won't have the cash reserves to do anything once bat takes a 50% hit.

>> No.22115234

>>22114608
I can sort of give some insight. The rebate browser extension honey was recently acquired by paypal for $5B. They had roughly 18m users at time of purchase. Brave is building something much larger. So why is $BAT so cheap right now?

Brave is a privately held company. Companies like dentsu-aegis and private investors have gone to brave begging for private equity but brave has not budged. Brave does not want to give up any control and they are going to finance brave through traditional bank loans. An IPO does not seem likely. This puts brave in a weird gray area in investing. Cryptocels know next to nothing about business and business people know next to nothing about crypto or they can't touch it. BAT appears to be sitting in a gap in the marketplace. For value investors this is one of those extremely rare assets that is not priced accordingly and would be considered a huge opportunity. Load up and wait. Once the market catches up you will be sitting on a war chest.

I will continue to hold my BAT.

However, someone needs to tap eich on the shoulder and explain that the clock is ticking now. Any day...and mark my words this is going to happen....google is going to enter this game.

Am I saying Google is going to offer a privacy browser that shields users from advertisers and from browser developers? NO.

I'm saying something much worse. Google is simply going to add crypto to pay users for watching ads into their botnet filled browser. Users have already shown they dont give a fuck about privacy. Google is going to say fuck it and interconnect all their properties via crypto, bribing their customers with $3 per month while they harvest and sell the data for $50 to advertisers.

The runway is running out and the ecosystem needs to get built ASAP. Eichs best strategic move now is to build up BAT (his warchest) into being worth a few B. this is going to be the only thing that gives him enough runway and marketing muscle once google enters the fray.

There is a possibility that Brave and Apple are working together on a search deal for a potential apple search engine. Entirely a rumor at this point but it would not surprise me at all if apple pulled this off. They have plenty of cash on hand and would roll this deal out to hurt google for trying to cut into their business.

Google could do something like what you are talking about but it would be a huge and risky punt. They also move extremely slow and have a graveyard with hundreds of failed projects. Its certainly a risk though.

I think brave has a few aces up their sleeve that they dont want to tell us about as well. BATsense or the copycat google display network is something we know about that could be a thorn in googles side, but I think they are working on things far more menacing.

BATsense is pretty big because its for the most part an already existing and proven model. The main issue is the opt in rate on both sides of the system and how much it costs. My thinking is that since its rate limited, opt in, and incentivized more users will be aligned with it. On the publisher side it recovers revenue lost through adblockers and it should pay them more than the google display network. On the advertiser side they dont have to deal with things like banner blindness causing false impressions, fraudulent impressions and potentially high competition rates at onset. Secondary effects being increased brand loyalty. BATsense could cannibalize googles display network which makes up like $40B per year of googles revenue and the notification ads could take some of their search network volume because the browser looks at query data across the full spectrum. This shit is no joke.

The SKU is pretty interesting as well because it gets into the paywall/ecom side of the internet and its frictionless. You basically top up your browser wallet with $100 worth of BAT with a credit card and run the balance out on paywalls, ebooks, tips, movie rentals etc. It could create some secondary markets as well like custodial crypto interfaces or other applications.

All the stuff that isn't public knowledge is what im really curious about. Brave has randomly dropped small breadcrumbs on things like themis, the "youtube killer" and zksense which is the captcha killer that could save the hellscape the web has turned into. I really think theres something they are keeping under wraps though. Eich is literally telling people looking for private equity to get lost and is refusing to raise additional capital. He knows something we dont.

I think eich just has a much better idea of the big picture. Pub ads should raise the brave rewards opt-in rate since it is less intrusive than popup notifications. This should be a cashcow. To add to your point, advertisers likely get better engagement but they also can now reach a previously blocked audience - yuge. I know it's being delayed due to potential privacy issues. Eich frequently talks about pushing this to be a w3c web standard and based on hints he's dropped, i think brave, safari, mozilla, samsung browser, opera will eventually implement something similar if not BAT in the future.
