Depends on how you initially bought crypto and how much you bought. I know for a fact that most tax authorities in wealthy countries have tools that easily track your trades/ transfers.
In other words, unless you used a private FIAT onramp or started with a very small initial investment then there's a high risk that they will get around to you at some point in the future. If you used privacy coins to hide your holdings/ trades then tax authorities obviously can't what you're holding/ what you owe but they/ their system will most likely be keeping a VERY close eye on your transfers/ assets.

Say you made 100k from waging, and you have 75k capital gains.

>IF YOU DONT CASH OUT IS IT STILL TAXED
This is and has always been false.

A "taxable event" does not mean tax has to be paid. It means it gets tracked in your accounting as a new entry point.

Every trade is made at a loss. If you move $1000 of ETH into DOGE you end up with less than $1000 in DOGE after exchange fees. You just showed a small loss which is actually a deduction.

How do you think companies like Amazon can show a billion dollars in sales each year and owe nothing? Because you don't owe taxes, and have never owed taxes "upon the taxable event." You take those profits and re-invest them they become expenditures. Costs are not profits. Your profits no longer exist.

You pay taxes when you cash out and take an actual profit; either in actual jewbux to your jewbank or spending them as cash. (Converting those BTC into a Lambo without converting them to jewbux first is still the same as converting them to jewbux.)

Wait so I need to pay tax on stuff like ETH to PNK even though I used Uniswap ?

Just used some crypto tax website, because I swung around $750 worth of Link last year, I only have to pay $3 apparently. I lost more than I paid for too
