Hello Biz
I was just wondering if anyone here had a bit of an idea as to how U.S tax works internationally.
I have lived in another country almost my entire life and paid my taxes faithfully in that country of which I am a permanent resident, but I am still a U.S citizen. I have considered moving to the U.S in the next year or so (hopefully,) but have never actually filed a tax return with the IRS. I'm getting mixed messages about what my requirements are. If I have been paying my taxes in the country that I live in, did I need to file taxes with the IRS in the U.S as well? What are the ramifications for not doing so?

Yes, file taxes as a nonresident alien or ICE will cave your skull in

ohhh no
how much money will i have to give them for them to not do that

You are responsible to pay taxes for the us on Foreign earned income UNLESS you form a 2555.
If you get audited I don’t know how it works but I guess you’ll be able to go and file a 2555 retroactive my for each year but of course you’ll have to provide proof of salary for each year. If you made over 150k usd then you are responsible (double taxation) for every dollar after 150k even if you filed a 2555. If you don’t pay up the IRS will send you to prison to get fucked by niggers.

Oh I lied. If you made over 107k/year you’re double taxed on everything over 107k/year
The limit changes every year, it increases by 2-3k/year so look at the historic limits to see your tax burden.

Hrm alright, thank you for that anon.
I'll have a look at filing that form - my records here have been pretty good. I haven't earned a single penny of income outside of my permanent residency country for the 29 something years I've been here, so it should hopefully be straightforward.

look for foreign tax credits from your current country of residence. You may have to go back and amend tax returns if you are eligible

If you make over 107k per year you can also claim the foreign tax credit on any taxes paid to your country of residence. You will still have to pay the IRS but it will reduce the burden somewhat.

The Jews at the IRS don’t care. You can live in a “foreign” country for 50 years and as long as you still have us citizenship as far as Uncle Sam is concerned every dollar you earned in that country is subject to US taxes.

So how does that even work? I haven't made anywhere near the 107k, so the deal is I not only pay taxes to my country of residence, but the U.S as well for income I never earned there? At this rate it sounds like it might be better for me to just become a full citizen here and never return, which is something I never thought I'd even consider but if the IRS is that insane then I don't know why I'd expose myself to such draconian demands if I move to the U.S and suddenly find myself in massive debt to them for some reason.

No your poorfaggotry saved you this time.
If you file 2555s it relieves your tax burden for everything under 107k (but this figure is different for every year. Since you’ve been gone for 25 years look at the historical limits; I.e it was 105 last year and 103 the year before)
Every dollar you make AFTER 107k is susceptible to taxation in the U.S. even if you don’t live there.

For example, the limit is 107k

Let’s say you made 205k

$1-$106,999.99-> you only pay your resident country taxes
$107,000+ -> you pay resident country taxes AND us taxes on every dollar above this level. Your tax bracket looks at what your total gross income was, so in this example You made 205k which puts you in the 35% tax bracket. You pay your resident country taxes + 35% American tax on every dollar after 107k

It’s complete bullshit but the Jews control the IRS so this is the way it is.

Okay okay - that was my bad, I misunderstood what you said before. Phew. Alright, that's still fucked but not so much for me personally. That makes a bit more sense. Thanks for the help from everyone here.
