Maybe try low dose Naltrexone. Drug for alcoholics. Easy enough to get if a doctor won't let you try it for crohns, just tell a doctor you're an alcoholic and ask for it by name. I think most people put a 50 mg pill into 50 ml saline solution and take around 1ml at a time, google for dosage. Very few side effects from memory, should be a safe crutch if nothing else. DYOR.
Also saw a guy claiming he was completely cured of his crohns on an old forum, he did a supplement program from a hair mineral testing company. He also had some metal poisoning show up on his test though, mercury or something I think. Though maybe that's what caused the crohns to begin with, who knows. I've had three - two stricturoplasties and one full resection. It's all over my small bowel which is much thinner than the colon, so scarring can very easily begin to block the tube (a stricture). By far they're the worst part, i've had a billion weird and horrific symptoms but when you obstruct your gut it's hell. 24 hours+ of excruciating pain, constant vomiting literal shit up, an abdomen that swells so viciously it feels like it's tearing and you feel feverish and sick and it just goes on and on for days.

Sometimes it clears on it's own but once it didn't so i had the resection, other times it was happening once or twice weekly so i elected to have the smaller ops. I've kind of accepted i'm fucked. It turned up at 23 when i was near the end of my medicine degree, was ultra /fit/ as well. Just kind of stopped my life dead since.

it depends on the individual fuckwit.

but if you want a starting point, a diet high in saturated fat(animal) , protein (animal) and low in carbohydrate (under 100g/day) is a good start. meal timing is another important factor (IMF etc) as you really don't want to be spiking your insulin all day. everything can be fine tuned to the individuals needs and how they react.

problems with diet almost always occur when high carb and high fat are combined in every meal (think pasta with lots of butter or oil), and that is not even accounting for other food irritants or chemicals that may cause you problems.

As far as i've read on UC it's autoimmune, whereas crohn's is a combination of things: an overly permeable intestinal wall, macrophage dysfunction and then some bacteria/mycobacterium infiltration. I kind of hope that one day some crispr turns up that can fix macrophage function.

Hang in bro. Just turned 32 and each year I do better with my disease. I found some diet tips in a book called “integrative gastroenterology” that actually help. Look at your diet as an investment in your body, that change of attitude helped me a lot physically and mentally.

This. I’ve never met a person who is “sick” that isn’t a complete hypochondriac that takes all kinds of pills and shit that ultimately cause them more harm. Just live normally how you’re supposed to and all of the made up diseases disappear.

Ya. That's also the basis of the whole Johne's = Crohn's thing. Its cursed. At least UC, they can throw biologics at it or even balsalazide and probably come out fine.

Same story here OP. Diagnosed with crohns 15 years ago. Had a decade symptom free where I thought I’d be one of the lucky ones then it hit me hard and eventually had to go on remicade. I get an infusion every 8 weeks and it has made a world of difference for me at least. On of my doctors told me he is certain a cure for autoimmune diseases will exist within a decade, so it’s not forever, it’s until something better comes along. Also colonoscopies aren’t so bad and cancer will be caught early enough to be treated since you’ll be getting screened regularly.

take this advice if you want to cure your disease, i've done it before as I was in the same scenario as you.

switch to an all fruit and vegetable diet for at least 6 months with supplementing protein iron and other vital nutrients as deemed fit. I singlehandedly restored my bowel and have been able to reverse the the damage that I have done through eating a "normal american" diet. Not to many people are able to switch over that is why you do not see very many success stories. but let me tell you OP it was 100% worked for me and I thought I hope you take this advice.
