We also don't really know how bad corona is yet. The 2008 crisis really started in like 2006. I realize corona isn't the same thing, but, where shit really shits the fan is not when the incident happens - corona or house prices going down - it's when it starts to test the increasingly leveraged financial systems in new ways. So in that timeline we are only in late 2006. Right now we also have an interesting circumstance where we don't have a tight group of people that need a bailout (yet) like the banks and AIG were - where we could really pinpoint where to spend to save the day - now it seems to be spread across a myriad of different industries and small, medium and large businesses.

Based boomer. Yep I remember the squawking of the metalbugs in '10-'12 but my instincts didn't agree so I didn't really stack, just hunted around buying up cheap silver (some gold) to sell profitably and fast. Did quite well desu and started an online business with proceeds, but now things are very fundamentally different so my instincts have been going nuts since the end of January so Ive been stacking and scrapping at a prodigious rate this year.

It's taken some conscious effort to make sure I diversify and get miners, gold, and resource sector exposure too because all my gut truly cares about is silver ingots. Probably not wrong either but I'm already autistic enough lol, gotta hedge bets and protect myself from myself ya know?

Got little babies now and I desperately want them and their own children to have the best lives I can secure so my stacking is ultimately all for them, IDGAF about getting rich I just want a happy healthy secure family and a wholesome rest of my life raising heirloom vegetables and fruits and chickens on the homestead. I'll die a happy man if at the end of my days I still have garden dirt caked under my nails and a happy prosperous family to carry on living the good life for me. Is that too much to ask of the world? I hope not.

Yes this is true. Pink erasers contain abrasives which do scratch coins, white softer rubber erasers, like in mechanical pencils, tend not to leave visible marks though you need to make sure the eraser and coin are clean and grit free.

Bullion coins aren't true numismatics so it's purely a personal aesthetic issue in my opinion, if you find another sperg who demands mirror finishes and will pay a premium then good for you, but since most bullion just sits in tubes and never circulates like real coin Gem Uncirculated rounds are the norm. Only gullible retards buy slabbed or otherwise overpriced bullion thinking it's actually worth any more than bullion content. Buying for enjoyment is a different matter, but as "investments" they'll never pay off.

If one wants to actually collect worthy high-grade numismatics, search for deals on minty Morgan and Peace dollars and the like, lots are coming into shops and some dealers are either dumb or too busy to look at everything being sold as junk silver. Dad found some scarce $50-$100 value high grade 1930s Washington quarters for his collection last week bought at 20/1.00 face for example. I have a poorfag friend who has basically all his wealth in 20 superb high grade Morgans. Way smarter than collecting slabbed ASEs or taxed memeshit rounds.

At present, QE depends on the commercial banking system to do the actual money printing. Current QE effort is destroying money. The premium is high due to the cost of manufacturing them. They are meant for a very niche market and not necessarily to get exposure to gold (although it still does, the premiums sort of overshadow that). They are really meant to be used as an alternative currency to fiat and not meant as an investment. When you factor that into it, the premiums sort of make sense

Right now the low price does not allow for silver recovery to really be profitable. So all that silver that goes in to technology just disappears.
From what I understand silver mines are not that plentiful most of the silver being a byproduct of other mining activity and the amount of silver being mined is not that large.
Sooner or alter what is underground will not be sufficient and the above ground demand will require recycling.
The price will be forced to increase but like you I just hope its before I die.
