>What wallet do I use?
There is no right answer for this. Mostly personal preference and security vs. convenience.
Hot storage (with Spark support) - XUMM or Exodus.
Cold storage - Ledger/Trezor or Paper/Metal Wallet.

I feel the same fren.

One thing I’d say (and I keep having to say this to myself in order to prevent drastic action if nothing happens eoy) is that all dates (including eoy) are ultimately fud.

That’s not to say that I don’t think we’ll go this year. I’m just saying that XRP is fundamentally a winner. It has the position and is making all the right moves to win a huge market. So even if it doesn’t go this year, it’ll go eventually. As things currently stand (with no real competition to XRP), you’ll be rich one day.

I hope that day is soon, but even if it’s not, don’t give up hope - hodl strong and we’ll get there.

So if Ropple has used money from XRP
Is there legalities around that.
ie. Can they dump their stacks - use the money to fund Ripple; create shares in Ripple for an IPO (not ICO)?

Can someone with legal knowledge explain this?
By not offering XRP holders Ripple shares; does that not guarantee that XRP has a place in this transition?
Would there not be a legal shit storm if this were the case?

I’m a lawyer, but not sure I quite understand what you’re asking - could you clarify?

Ripple shares are private shares that they don’t have an obligation to offer out.

XRP is at most, a product - separate from shares in the company. I’m not clear on the conflation you are making between the two.

Also, XRP is publicly available. They have no obligation to go out and offer it explicitly to all 7 billion humans

Ripple has basically funded the project with XRP funds.
ie) ripple needs money; they dump XRP for it.
If XRP is the bridge asset; they are giving billions of XRP to institutions - at what price.

Basically. XRP holders have funded the creation of Ripple.
IPO of Ripple does not include XRP holders.

This does make any logical sense; that ripple tech is adopted and XRP is cut out of the equation.

As far as ‘can ripple dump’. Yes, in my view they can dump as long as this is not negatively affecting shareholders.
There is a case on at the moment I believe with some XRP holders suing ripple for (among other things) dumping. There is a clear obligation of ripple’s management to protect shareholder value. Whether they have an obligation to protect the value of XRP though is questionable. We all bought knowing the price is subject to change - which change can occur by a large investor buying or dumping. In addition, ripple could make a good argument that dumping (in its current form) is intended for the long term benefit of the project - claimants would have to prove this is an unreasonable position, which would be difficult.

I’m still not quite sure What exactly your concern is so, point by point:

> Ripple has basically funded the project with XRP funds.
Yep. No issues there. Apple funds itself with iPhone funds.

>ripple needs money; they dump XRP for it.
Dumping addresses above.

> they are giving billions of XRP to institutions - at what price.
It’s a publicly traded asset. They can give it away to whoever they want. XRP is separate to Ripple.

> Basically. XRP holders have funded the creation of Ripple.
Ripple is a holder of XRP and funded itself through its holding. Ripple is not XRP.

> IPO of Ripple does not include XRP holders
Lol. Of course it wouldn’t. At least - not in any special capacity - if the offering is public, we’ll have the same rights as the rest of the public.

Thinking there will be major incentives to stake XRP. If it is the bridge; the bridge has to cover the value going through it.

Their right to any direct share of the profits (dividends) is subject to the approval of the board of directors. No worries. Hopefully October is indeed go time - the sooner the better really.

Don’t get discouraged if not though - everything is moving in the right direction:

- IMF holding events about cross border payments on October 20th (can’t get an invite though unless I pull some very big favours at work which I don’t want to right now)
- G20 November 21/22 with discussions on use of digital assets and private currencies. Will be a lot of press around it, so we’ll know what’s going on.
- Davos, January With talks on blockchain. As above, there’ll be a lot of press.

I feel as though one of these events (not private/PR events but actual meetings of world, finance and business leaders) could be where it happens. All it would take is for the IMF/BIS or any number of other governmental or quasi-governmental organisations to say “we’re going to use XRP for cross border payments” and we’ll be on the moon.

Honest answer (and bear in mind I know very little about crypto generally so this is based on my vague understanding of what link is, so I may be making a fool of myself here - you can correct me if I’m wrong):
No, it’s not a scam. It has a real world application and appears to be making strides towards that goal. It’s absolutely possible to XRP and link to co-exist in future as I see them chasing different markets.

The question from me though (not with link specifically, but with all others) is how likely is it to succeed and what does success look like.

Link looks to me to be primarily about smart contracts. I think I’ve mentioned before on here - isda looked at smart contracts before and dropped the idea as banks were not interested. Now, there’s no reason banks won’t pick it up again in future and banks are not the only market, but I think that gives an indication of the value of the market. A smart contract is not really that valuable a product in my mind (I may be biased because if they get too smart I may be out of a job). There are a number of different firms providing similar solutions and their intrinsic value wouldn’t support a massive valuation. Remember a contract lasts anything from a minute to infinity years, so you may have to be buying your link and holding it for years - that doesn’t support a high valuation (as compared to XRP where you buy and sell instantly - you don’t have to tie up money in it and the valuation therefore represents available bandwidth more than price).

So in short - not a scam but I don’t see huge moon potential because it has a sticky ‘cost’.

However I am of the opinion that it's ran its course when it comes to big moves.
I could be wrong though, for all I know it could moon tomorrow.

Thing with every coin is that it'll do well for a long ass time; generate a bunch of comradery and memes; then it'll get hit ONCE and immediately all the people that got fucked over; because they're not smart; will jump to calling it a scam.

Link was like $1, 3 years ago no?
A lot of Marines stacked that shit like most Schizos stack XRP now.
Gurantee the ones calling it a scam are:
- Pajeets
- Marines that didn't cash out at $20

tl;dr Just because the coin wasn't your golden ticket, doesn't mean it's a scam.

I appreciate the genuine reply. That image does not share the same bias, no. The spectrum on the original image leaves out any politics left of center by name entirely, and implies leftism in the journey toward/as the culmination of fascism, oligarchy, and technocracy. This is not how I or many others see the worls-- in fact, its the opposite. This is not based upon media brainwashing, but life experience. Anecdotally, I live in a poor, rural area of the USA. The "right" in this area have stripped the natural beauty to its barest bones in the name of corporate green, and they repeatedly vote in the interest of their corporate masters instead of the people they should serve, including on issues such as black lung/Healthcare, stripping funds to our one school district in the area while decreasing tax rates for the wealthy, etc. I am also Christian, and believe that Jesus is Lord of all. I do not believe that gnosis or Christ Himself are wrapped in the same cloth as those that would sacrifice the people for profit. I understand many do not feel as I do, but I am unable to say nothing when images like the post I replied to pop up. It is visceral.

In our paradigm (current); truth comes from screens for most. Money is king (or God) most worship it. How could they not. its how we feed our family.
Will people look away from the utter destruction of the natural world (Gods Creation) for money?
Don't we have to.
This is why the Right is supported.

The Left is seen as those that want to take away money, too or balance the playing field.

Has true communism ever existed?
Class / hierarchies are necessary.
Equal opportunity should not mean = outcome. In equal opportunity the best of the best will be discovered. How many brilliant minds are not known because = opportunity does not exist.
How many people are where they should not be because = opportunity does not exist?

If someone is on their path, living their purpose; would they not be happy? Some jobs are more important that others so there will always be variance in pay.

The Left is on to something with the Green thing. The right wont touch it with a 10 foot pole if they threaten to take away $. Which are the current optics.

Just rambling; this could go on forever. Trying to come at it from a neutral perspective.
Tax what we exhale for example.

Love Trump or hate him. Is he not the monkey wrench needed in this time to wake everyone up?

Do the masses know Truth? Does anyone?
Would be nice.

What is a global citizen? Culture and Community are essential.

>unstoppable intrusive thoughts, some of them are blasphemous to the LORD Jesus Christ, it's something I cannot stop
I can't speak for God, but I have many such intrusive thoughts. I spent the better part of two decades in the internets and have seen more than my share of horrors. Combined with what I assume to be an above average visual memory, every day it's there. Every night when I lay my head down to sleep.

In the end i accepted that they are a part of me and I'm certain that this is the full extent of what i can do to mitigate the negative effects of something I fundamentally can't change about myself. Resisting intrusive thoughts is a fool's errand. Ever try to not think about something? However, if you simply don't let them bother you (acceptance) you're well on your way to finding peace. Simple as, difficult as.

I would recommend philosophy to supplement your religious learnings. A Guide To The Good Life by Irving is where I started. Followed by Meditations by Marcus Aurelius. There are many techniques in stoic philosophy which deal with exactly this sort.

Gnosticism is trash. World hating nonsense. It is no wonder that only the ugly, the weak, the poor, and the stupid follow it. All who have reason to hate their lot in this world.

Gnosticism is more reasonable than what is thought of as "traditional" Christianity, and is also closer to the original teachings of Christ. Narrow-minded dogmatists have spread nothing but lies and falsehoods about Gnostic beliefs for centuries, and incurious cretins like you who blindly follow what they've been told help to perpetuate the untruths.
