One thing I’d say (and I keep having to say this to myself in order to prevent drastic action if nothing happens eoy) is that all dates (including eoy) are ultimately fud.

That’s not to say that I don’t think we’ll go this year. I’m just saying that XRP is fundamentally a winner. It has the position and is making all the right moves to win a huge market. So even if it doesn’t go this year, it’ll go eventually. As things currently stand (with no real competition to XRP), you’ll be rich one day.

I hope that day is soon, but even if it’s not, don’t give up hope - hodl strong and we’ll get there.

Ripple the company is a gold miner. They dug up a bunch of XRP (Gold) and sold some. What they do with the rest of the XRP they hold is their business. - Davos, January With talks on blockchain. As above, there’ll be a lot of press.

I feel as though one of these events (not private/PR events but actual meetings of world, finance and business leaders) could be where it happens. All it would take is for the IMF/BIS or any number of other governmental or quasi-governmental organisations to say “we’re going to use XRP for cross border payments” and we’ll be on the moon.

No, it’s not a scam. It has a real world application and appears to be making strides towards that goal. It’s absolutely possible to XRP and link to co-exist in future as I see them chasing different markets.

The question from me though (not with link specifically, but with all others) is how likely is it to succeed and what does success look like.

Link looks to me to be primarily about smart contracts. I think I’ve mentioned before on here - isda looked at smart contracts before and dropped the idea as banks were not interested. Now, there’s no reason banks won’t pick it up again in future and banks are not the only market, but I think that gives an indication of the value of the market. A smart contract is not really that valuable a product in my mind (I may be biased because if they get too smart I may be out of a job). There are a number of different firms providing similar solutions and their intrinsic value wouldn’t support a massive valuation. Remember a contract lasts anything from a minute to infinity years, so you may have to be buying your link and holding it for years - that doesn’t support a high valuation (as compared to XRP where you buy and sell instantly - you don’t have to tie up money in it and the valuation therefore represents available bandwidth more than price).

So in short - not a scam but I don’t see huge moon potential because it has a sticky ‘cost’.

I can't speak for God, but I have many such intrusive thoughts. I spent the better part of two decades in the internets and have seen more than my share of horrors. Combined with what I assume to be an above average visual memory, every day it's there. Every night when I lay my head down to sleep.

In the end i accepted that they are a part of me and I'm certain that this is the full extent of what i can do to mitigate the negative effects of something I fundamentally can't change about myself. Resisting intrusive thoughts is a fool's errand. Ever try to not think about something? However, if you simply don't let them bother you (acceptance) you're well on your way to finding peace. Simple as, difficult as.

I would recommend philosophy to supplement your religious learnings. A Guide To The Good Life by Irving is where I started. Followed by Meditations by Marcus Aurelius. There are many techniques in stoic philosophy which deal with exactly this sort.
