We almost hit ATHs on Monday, and there is no reason to really go beyond that before the election/stimulus, so we bounced off the top. Nothing is currently a long term gain so if I get called, I get called. I’ll rebuy at the same price or on a dip and continue this until after the election.

Sounds like a long term plan but we only have a few weeks until the election lol, maybe after the election I’ll stop writing them and let it ride.

GME is such a bad ass little stock. No one ever believed in him, called him the next Blockbuster, the Sears of the gaming market. Bankrupt EOY they said.
But look at it now. Trimmed, lean, aggressive and poised. Stared MSFT straight in the eye and didnt even flinch. In fact, it was MSFT that asked GME not to make such a big deal about the partnership even though it was GME that came away the clear benefactor. Even Sony 'mirin right now.
Shorties try to keep GME down but GME dont care. GME is too hungry to care and in the end will eat their lunch too and it'll serve them right for trying to deny a dog its day.

This is a really misleading and superficial graph, only a retard would post this to suggest it reflects the a substantial augmentation in the price of renewable electricity.
Consider that California regulators have focused on electric bills not rates. The state’s moderate weather generally means that Californians need and use less heating and cooling, thus less electricity. California has taken this farther by investing in and encouraging energy efficiency to use even less. This graph shows the per capita energy use in California versus the entire United States. Since starting its energy efficiency push in the 1970s, California continues to use less and less energy per capita and now uses about half as much. Of course that means that there are fewer kilowatt hours (kWh) to charge for all the infrastructure (wires and poles and such) needed to deliver the electricity, which means higher rates.
So no you fucking dipshit, how about YOU do the research.

That's up to debate.

And every financial institution tells you to buy stocks and bonds... doesn't mean that gold has inherent value.
>bull stock market = people buy gold to hedge
That's also true for bonds. Still no argument for it's inherent value.
>Fed is doing AIT above 2%
The Fed has no real powers. All it can do is talk until the congress changes that.
>stimulus + QE = dollar down
That's not true. QE means dollar up. The fed can only produce bank reserves by pulling collateral out of the system. It's not printing money. Stimulus doesn't have a big enough effect. It also depends on how it is used.
>ngmi

Gold's value is purely cultural, there is nothing intrinsic about it. It's value is just as real as fiat currency - it's valuable as long as people agree it has value.
Jesus, you'd be better off hoarding oil barrels at home in an apocalyptic event, that at least has actual value if society collapses.

Besides, unless you own literal physical gold, you're shares of GLD or IAU or whatever is just as "real" as stocks. And nobody here is actually going to store fucking gold bars at home like some paranoid schizo boomer that thinks the sky is falling - and has been believing that for the past couple of decades.

No, it's not - how are you going to argue with the charts / facts?
>And every financial institution tells you to buy stocks and bonds... doesn't mean that gold has inherent value.
Bruh. You're retarded. There's a difference between setting price targets above $2,000 & "telling people to buy stocks & bonds"
>"doesn't mean that gold has inherent value."
You're dumb. You really think gold has value just because people think it does. What you don't understand is gold has scarcity & requires capital to produce.
>labor
>land
>machines
>capital
>time
All of these things DO give it inherent value. You can't just magically produce gold. It requires inputs - those inputs have value.
>That's also true for bonds. Still no argument for it's inherent value.
This is how I know you are truly retarded. We are in an era of negative real interest rates, even for the lowest investment grade corporate bonds. You clearly know absolutely nothing. NOBODY WANTS BONDS.
>The Fed has no real powers. All it can do is talk until the congress changes that.
Jesus christ. I don't even know where to begin with this one. You're an idiot. Learn the difference between monetary & fiscal policy.
>
That's not true. QE means dollar up. The fed can only produce bank reserves by pulling collateral out of the system. It's not printing money. Stimulus doesn't have a big enough effect. It also depends on how it is used
This is the only argument that has some weight - yes, in the short run QE is deflationary (as we're seeing now), but in the long-run it is inflationary

The point of TA is to max the odds, and moreover even if you were really right only 20% of the time, if you can gain >5:1, that's 0.2 * 5 - 0.8 = 0.2R expected profit (i.e. still profitable).
Incidentally, my winrate is around 58% and I'm a new trader. Expert traders with conservative management strategies can hit ~80% winrates (conservative means they may make 0.5R on a win, but lose around 0.2R on a loss), while expert traders with more liberal management (1R on losses, but 3+R when winning) can hit 60% easily.

P.S.: Would anyone be interested in trade reviews? I would select some trades I took for the day, explain why and how I entered the trade, what mistakes were made, and the outcome.

And that still doesn't answer the question why you would store gold at home instead of oil.

You shouldn't be with any canadian bank in the first place, their fees will rape your ass for no reason. Questrade is by far the best option for canadians (sadly because it's still mediocre), and the only real alternative is ibkr (which is absolute dogshit without paying thousands a month for various data packages, external screeners, and an external trading platform such as tradestation-global or amibroker -- although even then it's crippled because ibkr made their API as obtuse and broken as possible to prevent 3rd parties from providing people the service, and they throttle the shit out of the data they send so you'll have to subscribe to yet another external data package).

Hey options frens, I bought a NIO call this morning after jpm tripled their price target assuming this was going to continue to run up bigly. My question is would you personally hold over night or sell before close? I’d like to hold because the exp is so far away but the IV was over 100% which is sketchy and I’m okay with a quick 30% gain desu. I’m a poor fag so this would be one of 3 day trades I can make this week but that’s okay.

That being said, I think you should look into some technical analysis on gold, it's pretty bullish right now.

You should read this guy called Karl Marx. He had a lot to say you might agree with. I suggest starting with "Value, Price and Profit" and "Wage Labour and Capital", if you are interested in economics.

>being an idiot
In an apocalypse level scenario, oil has actual applicable use-value, which gold doesn't. If you want to own it physically because you think the world is going to end, a barrel of oil makes much more sense. You could buy ammunition and weapons too, I guess.

If you want to own commodities as an investment, you might as well stick with ETFs and stocks (miners if you wish), instead of going through the hassle of dealing with physical goods.
If you want it as a hedge against the apocalypse when markets no longer exist, infrastructure fails, etc., you have no clue what gold would actually be worth. As I said, I don't need gold in my day to day life and neither does anybody else. So you're investment purely relies on gold being used as a replacement currency, and you have no clue how much gold a single barrel of oil (which people might actually need) would fetch in that scenario.

>If you're not trolling, you really, really, REALLY, need to learn more about the world & the markets before posting here again. You are only dragging us down into your pit of ignorance & stupidity. Lurk moar.

By corollary, unskillful work can easily subtract value; an untalented cook can turn wholesome dough and fresh green apples, valuable already, into an inedible mess, value zero. What for if not apocalypse level scenario? If markets still work, it would seem much more convenient to just own GLD or IAU. The only reason to own the physical asset instead would be because you can no longer trade the previously mentioned ETFs, which is essentially an apocalypse level/societal collapse scenario. Dude, your reading comprehension is absolute garbage. I literally say in the quote, "as a shit hits the fan safety net"
I cannot flee my home carrying 2000 gallons of oil. I can flee my home carrying 1 ounce of gold.
I can hide 1 ounce of gold on my person in case I was 'arrested'. I cannot hide 2000 gallons of oil.

I can only repeat myself, because you are very, very dense:
In a shit hits the fan scenario, gold has not the same value as it does today, neither would oil. One barrel of oil would be worth more than several ounces of gold, because people would actually need oil, but not gold.

>I can flee my home carrying 1 ounce of gold.
>I can hide 1 ounce of gold on my person in case I was 'arrested'.
In that case just buy a gun and some ammunition, you nut.
If you think you are going to have to flee from the law or some shit, I'm not sure how you imagine you are going to trade with your ounce of gold somewhere. Like what gold dealers on every corner? You just go to a convenience store and try to get the clerk to accept gold for payment?

I'm dead serious. What scenario do you envision where you are going to have to flee with nothing but your ounce of gold, and how do you think you are actually going to use it? Seems like in nearly every case, having a gun and more bullets is going to help you way more.

>There are also counters to your very naïve argument
of course. I said it was a 'brainlet' (i.e. intuitive) counterexample, not a rigorous academic rebuttal. It gets the point across, which is that LTV has extremely low predictive power.

you miss the other anon's point. In a situation where markets for paper gold cease to exist, it's likely that demand for actual gold would also dry up as people are instead interested in much more immediately practical commodities like food, fuel, and weaponry.

Hypothetically the demand would return post collapse scenario, but you would need a way to protect your physical gold through that, and not be murdered for it

Having an ounce of gold may be the difference between the gas chamber & labor. Anyone can be bribed. I am not disagreeing with you that guns, gasoline, and bic lighters will become more valuable - but you are wrong to think that gold will have no value. In a shit hits the fan apocalypse scenario it will become the new currency / the only currency (other than silver)

PMs are unlikely to have denominations small enough or circulation wide enough to function as a medium of exchange during a collapse scenario. Cigarettes and Lighters are way more likely. Also ammo.
They will only ever serve as a store of value until after the SHTF situation is over. But to ever realize that value you're gonna need the resources to survive and protect them.
