The cards are so damn good. Honestly its the only thing keeping me on the platform.

5% cash back and cash back for Amazon prime, netflix and spotify is unreal at the icy white tier. Plus I get better interest rates than anywhere else with the service.

They just need to completely overhaul their marketing/PR department because my god are they pissing people off with their changes and back and forth policy decisions.

I only hold just as much CRO as I need for mine and my wife's card. Every other bit of CRO I earn I immediately dump.

Crypto.com have a massive insruance fund on their cold wallets.

I trust them many times more than I trust Binance.

https://crypto.com/en/security.html

>Crypto.com has secured a US $100M direct insurance policy led by Arch Underwriting at Lloyd's Syndicate 2012. This is the largest coverage that Crypto.com has secured for its cold storage assets on custodial partner Ledger Vault. The new policy brings Crypto.com’s total cryptocurrency insurance to $360M, including direct and indirect coverage via custodians. This will significantly expand security protection for Crypto.com’s growing user base, which has just surpassed 3+ million, against physical damage or destruction, and third-party theft.

This fund does NOT cover the crypto you hold in their savings accounts from hacks, company failures or other fuck ups. I actually emailed them about the small print in the T&Cs of their crypto earn programs. They admitted that the crypto held there is uninsured. Read the T&Cs if you dont believe me.

funds held in EARN are not protected by that insurance I think, I need to double check on that one.

The insurance covers the cold stored assets in the bank vaults. If I recall correctly, the EARN product you agree that the capital is put to work by the company and isn't held in the cold wallets.

I'm not so clear on it all but I think you are correct.

>> No.23432658

> CEO and CFO are well known convicted scammers with a very dark resume
> They lost all their VISA card provider partnerships, my MCO card works literally nowhere
> Earn profit has been divided by half without any notice
> Nobody uses their shitty exchange
> The crypto.com chain is centralized. They created it to artificially generate useless token that they will dump on your ass

>> No.23432682

>>23432658
Yes, internal theft would not be covered by the insurance, only external theft of the funds in the cold wallet.
The insurance treats the cold wallets as if they are a priceless piece of art or commodity and cover it from external unauthorised theft.

I was working with a startup in Singapore and we had meetings with insurers about the same type of coverage.

>> No.23432716

>>23432676
>> They lost all their VISA card provider partnerships, my MCO card works literally nowhere

That was Wirecard, nothing to do with crypto.com.
Your card works everywhere visa does, unless you're an APAC card holder thats resident in Singapore - in which case your card ONLY works with Singapore merchants.
If you're and APAC card holder not resident in Singapore then your card works with all merchants except Singapore merchants. This is some regulatory issue they are resolving.

>Earn profit has been divided by half without any notice

From 18% to 12% and only applied to new stakes, all existing stakes remain at the old rate until they expire.

>> The crypto.com chain is centralized. They created it to artificially generate useless token that they will dump on your ass

The chain isnt even live yet, so this is irrelevant.

Its not really confirmed or denied as you don't know how much of the EARN product funds they keep in cold storage.

The company claims to keep all of client funds in cold storage, but that cant be true of EARN products as then there wouldn't be any point in them.

So they are certainly not 100% covered by the insurance. But Binance have no insurance and covered user funds loss from the May 7th hack from company profits.

I would imagine that in any hack Crypto.com would cover user losses from company funds - if not they company would probably collapse.

>> No.23432926

>>23432825
yeah - i guess that makes sense.

I mean this seems like a problem with all CeFi solutions. No matter what, you have to trust that someone isn't going to F you over.

At the end of the day this is why I don't go all in on crypto.com even though they do have a large portion. I split my coins between Celsius, BlockFi, crypto.com, and ledn.io just so I dont have all my eggs in one basket.

Crypto.com has the best rates though when you have private.

>> No.23433086

>I would imagine that in any hack Crypto.com would cover user losses from company funds - if not they company would probably collapse.

>if not they company would probably collapse.

Bingo. If kucoin one of the biggest exchanges had to beg coins to mint new ones to cover their losses from the latest hack what makes you think crypto.com has the funds to cover a large scale hack? They dont and their own T&Cs state they are not obliged to refund any crypto held in their earn program.
