I'm interested in buying STAtera but I don't understand how this deflationary thing works. I got burned with AMPL because I didn't pay attention and just held. I dont want this to happen again.

as long as you didn't sell your ampl, you're fine. jumping into statera now, while the timing and price are decent, doesn't change the fact that it's a shitcoin.

Basically if you hold your coins your stack will remain but all the other coins are slowly burning away. No new coins can be minted so as time passes you will own a greater and greater share of the market cap and naturally if that goes up, so does the value of your stack.

With enough burned tokens the market cap doesn’t need to be as high for the token to reach higher values. For example, at launch for the price to be $1 a market cap of $101,000,000 was required, now that number is $85,000,000.

There are other aspectd to the burning too, I’d suggest you to read the whitepaper to get an idea.
