Throw some water and a bit of flour into the pan you just used to make a basic gravy.

I took the cook at home pill primarily because of money.

But then when you look at just how terrible fast food and low cost restaurant food is for you, my good you are so much better off cooking at home. The cheap food at places here in America is literally garbage that will give you cancer. And you can save a ton of money and eat great on a primarily plant based diet. There's a reason why you eat a bunch of fruits and vegetables and you are full for a good 6 to 7 hours and when you eat fast for you are hungry 2 hours later.

I made a vegetable beef stew tonight with lentils in it. I also have a loaf of whole grain organic bread. Like $10 total and I'm gonna get 5 meals out of it.

The only caveat is that there are some foods which are more efficient to order because they are too complex or tedious to produce. To date the main thing I find that being true for is pizza dough given the time to do it, the difficulty of doing it, the sheer messiness of doing it. Also fried chicken because of the cost of oil, the messiness, the fact that it feels inefficient to do fried chicken unless you do a huge batch of it.

Bread I can manage but I never get it right. It's too dense or too gummy.
