Tether print USDT, buy BTC, sell BTC to Saylor for USD. Tether now have USD, so can pay people who want to swap USDT for USD. And of course, BTC has accumulated in value from when they bought to when they sold, so they have more USD than USDT printed, so they could actually turn a massive profit AND cover Tether.
I am NOT saying I think USDT is legit, and I would never touch it, but it does seem like Saylor has given them the chance of a legit way out, without just blowing up USDT and going to prison for the rest of their lives.
I'm no expert though, so should like to hear other anons tell me why this is wrong.

As an example, I print 10M USDT, buy 100K BTC with it. I then sell off that BTC as it goes up in price. Let's say I now sell the BTC for 15M once all is said and done. I now have 10M to back up my Tether, and 5M profit.

Obviously Tether would have been fucked it BTC had gone down in value - but it hasn't. Surely they could stop printing now and be safe? Sure, BTC will crash and take the market with it without the buy pressure, but Tether will be fine, it'll be Saylor who gets JUSTED. Even if the last couple of prints worth of BTC cant be sold off in time, they should have made enough profit to easily cover it, no?
