My biggest fear is trading away my portfolio now that we are in a bullrun

I had $200k plus back in 2018 and it all evaporated from holding alts and trading it away. All that remains from that is $15k out of the $190k you see in that photo

Over the past 2 years I added more fiat and bought up tens of thousands of $ of Eth and a bit of btc as I had faith that the market would turn. To date since 2017 I’ve put in close to $100k of fiat....

I kind of feel like I should now just sit on my hands for the next 12 months as this might by some slim chance hit $1m.

I’d cash out half to finally get my initial out and some profits (less 50% tax)

Realistically will my portfolio h it $1m or could it go higher? I kind of feel there is a completely different narrative and underlying factors driving btc growth this time vs 2017

Just hold it dude even if it dips by 3-4x. If you’re very ambitious try to time the market and tether up. If I tethered up in 2017 at 250k And bought back in I would be well into the 2-3M range now instead of 600k. It’s not great advice but if you feel you need to make it faster then you need to think differently than the masses.

Hit 800k in 2017, cashed nothing out, lost it all buying absolute shitcoins through the bear market (hit 20k at absolute lowest) now I'm somehow back up to 650k after nailing some big alt runs in the past months. My portfolio peaked at 15btc value... it’s now just 5btc value. All I had to do was move my funds into btc and sit. Hindsight is a wonderful thing

I like the degeneracy of it all but being realistic the dollar is a steaming piece of shit. I hold btc and eth as a hedge against inflation, link for returns, and xsn is my total scam mega ultimate shitcoin that is going to zero or maybe a few dollars. $10 makes me a multimillionaire but it's a long shot.
This is how crypto should be played. Btc and eth to preserve money so at least you don't lose everything, a good project thats a sure thing, and a terrible project that might surprise you. It's more fun than trading at least because you have to think about it and then you're locked in, for better or worse.

There really isn't much you could have done to change that except all inned BTC/ETH during the bear, I was in a similar situation, portfolio peaked at $500,000 in early 2018, bottomed at $30,000 ... Currently worth $70,000 ... All I did was hold during the bear, the only thing I could have done different is sold my alts at the peak and just held BTC during the bear... but if I had done that after taxes I'd still only have roughly $250k currently so I really don't even thing about it
