OK, I should have clarified, don't be fooled by boomer platitudes about *US Treasury Bonds* and frankly dollar denominated debts in general (I'm going to disagree with you on US corporate unless you've managed to snag some real high yielders with short duration - in the short term, you may or may not get fucked by inflation, but in the long term you will 100% get fucked by rising interest rates since they'll have to go back up eventually)

Emerging market local currency denominated debt is an interesting play but unless you're a literal multi-millionaire your options are limited to a few ETFs which doesn't give you much control of which countries you want exposure to.

I'm 33 and I've never invested anything in my life. No one's ever taught me anything about finances and my parents are hyper conservative with their money. I don't have an excuse because internet, but god damn if you ever have kids please make sure they have basic financial literacy. I earn like $100k/yr but I can't afford housing and lose a ton of money because most of it has just sat in a savings account for years.

It makes my soul ache when I think of what I've lost because of my ignorance. Please tech your hellspawn about investing, even if its just tossing it all in a low risk mutual fund or index fund and never looking at it again for 10 years.

You'll gain a lot more on OTM calls. There was some dude on reddit that turned $460 into over 1m just from buying OTM TSLA LEAPS a year or so ago. However, buying OTM calls is literally degenerate gambling and more often then not, you will get wrecked and lose money. If you want to play it safe, you are better off buying something ITM calls with a delta of at least 80. That way you are still getting leverage in relation to the underlying stock's price movement, but the premium of the option won't turn into absolute dog shit if the underlying has a bad down swing. Definitely do more reading and lurk more.
