>I don't know if that's complex. I literally think the majority of people literally do not think about things. They "think" in slogans that smart people write for them
That is true but many are probably high in those traits, research indicates this.
>It's that Scott Adams thing that people are completely irrational 99% of the time, and what we perceive as reasoning is usually just rationalizing an instinctive, irrational decision. Every year I get more and more convinced that's right. Especially when you're getting a slogan from someone, and you can easily demonstrate that the slogan is objectively false, and all you get is the slogan again, but angry.
Heard of the 5 personality test? It is the standard in psychology. The average person is relatively high in traits agreeableness and conscientiousness (rule following) and relatively low in openness (intellectual curiosity/intelligence). Personality is the way the brain is wired, how it processes information; and twin and adoption studies have shown that personality is roughly 70%-80% heritable (genetic). So they're born as wired conformists/NPCs.
>I don't think most people are actually conscious enough to be Machiavellian, hell if I know though
It's a personality trait, a way of being. Thinking is not really involved with true Machs, i.e. it isn't an act.
