Never cashed out so I lived on my crypto for the next three years. I went from comfy 55 bitcoin to currently 40 + 4btc worth of shitcoins. It's all worth $1.7MM when it could be worth closer to $3MM.

moral: dont quit your day job until you've cashed out what you're comfortable cashing out on. Sometimes I had to sell btc at its low of 3k because I was a jobless dumbass

Stopping mining. Looked into it in 2011 and setup a miner using my gaming PC. Friend told me it was the future and I’d get rich just using my computer. Ran it for a while, made all of about 10 bitcoins. Realize I was never going to make enough to be worthwhile so quit. Never spent the coins, sure they disappeared when I recycled the HDD.

I 3x'd a meme $300 investment to $1000ish back during the 2017 pump then lost $300 during the dump before cashing out. Dropped crypto and watched btc crash to $3000
Reinvested a lot (for me) in btc at $17,000, cashed out at $19,500 fearing a repeat of 2017.
