And with Link, every source has its own redundancy.

You borrow link to sell now before it dumps and buy back your stack for less and keep the difference which is shorting Link.
You are trying to get a big stack without going through the normal exchange process when you expect a pump to happen and will only have a delayed effect on the Link price with this, or you want to buy now everything and can't wait a few days or week to buy your stack are are ready to pay a premium for it when your collateral gets liquidated. This may be used for some tax optimizations.

If you deposit Link as a collateral you can use it to buy more Link by borrowing USDC but it won't give you an interest on Link as you are the one paying it.
