I used to run a district for a national sea food chain. They will always go with the lower cost on something like salmon.

We went from buying fresh fish to frozen since the cost was lower for the frozen counter part.

Intel is already finished with 10nm, Samsung has 5nm, and TSM is falling behind Moore's Law in their transition from 5nm to 3nm (2.5 years instead of 2, ignoring the fact that their chinky measuring is BS and not at all representative of real transistor density or performance.)

Samsung just started making GPUs because they have tech comparable to TSM at a lower price, CPUs will follow if they keep succeeding. If they succeed in making 2nm before TSM, they can raise prices and start raking in massive profits, like TSM is doing right now.
Intel 10nm was a disaster but is already in many CPUs, and either way, they're moving on. They don't need to remake 10nm because they've already discovered the asinine mistakes they made with it.
BTW, Tiger Lake is literally on 10nm. Desktop variants are backported to 14nm because 10nm is bad at hitting high clockspeeds, and because Intel is still trying to sell 14nm CPUs that cost them nothing to make for $500.

The fact that they are skipping to 3nm before they even achieved volume production on 5nm is going to be a disaster (like it was for Intel skipping a node size previously) and this is a huge positive catalyst for TSM that I'm expecting will happen in a couple years

Samsung is a fab. Desktop ARM is becoming a reality and if Samsung is the best fab, they will be paid to make those chips, and possibly Intel's chips once they realize they're too far behind and need a temporary savior. Furthermore, every phone SoC designer currently using TSM (Apple, Qualcomm) will flock to their fabs, in addition to the money Samsung saves by producing their own chips for their phones/tablets/laptops.

It's true they have bad issues with yields, but I don't know if it will stop them from moving on. Samsung is retardedly huge and doesn't seem to mind tossing money down the drain to keep their fabs going, so I doubt they're relying heavily on the money they'd make from 5nm mass production.
I do plan to buy TSM again at some point, but I don't think their future will be all sunshine and rainbows if both of their major competitors have even a small chance to achieve performance parity with them, even in small orders. At least for Intel, they could be a node behind and still compete well due to chink measuring being deceptive.
