Listen.

Fuck real estate. If you want to expand your income after crypto, invest in your own online store.

I started my brand 5 years ago doing $50k in sales. This year I’ll be doing $1m+ and profiting 40% after all business expenses. Do the math. $400k a year just running ads, emailing customers, and packing orders. I have zero employees.

Find a undiluted product market, create a brand out of it, and scale. So fucking easy, just needs a few years of grind and not paying yourself, then reap the benefits.

You fucks will be bored as fuck doing nothing after cashing out. I’m handing you a silver platter of how to make it after making it.

You probably won't have a great time. I also sell on Etsy, volume isn't as great, but they offer very favorable policies towards sellers relative to Amazon. Amazon would throw a multi millions dollar seller under the bus for 2-3 complaints from low tier customers.

You also don't get to set your own return policy and expect to advertise EVERY fresh launch.

I like Etsy overall, about 20k/month, good bit of cs involved though is my only complaint.

That being said, there does not exist a platform capable of turning out volume like amazon. They own ecom in the states.

Based on my experience getting banned left and right, you need woo commerce, that's really your store, and you are not relying on big tech that can ban your store just by some stupid ass algorithm
Run ads on FB and google, use an ad agency
The point is, if you rely on platforms, you COULD run into problems with them and have zero income over night.

Don't you need a special designation to do that? Also, you're cashing out into your gym stuff account?
Lastly, so then what, you just pay yourself the amount you cashed out? So you pay regular income tax on it then? (disregarding any deductions)

>> No.26054535

>>26054432
No, you just classify that income as sales or whatever else when you file taxes. When you have a good amount of money coming in from sales regularly than depositing $5-7k from crypto at a time looks normal. As an single person LLC you file your business and personal together so you only get taxed once.

Everyone says "use shopify" and "find an undiluted market" but I don't really know how to do the latter, and the former is so vague. So your business plan is buying merch in bulk for alibaba and then up marking it to 50-100% on shopify? The amount of dumbfucks with money they shouldn’t have on the internet makes these parasite resellers active on the internet. For shame, at least make something.

>>26056158
But it is since there’s nothing exclusive about sportswear or any type of sprotswear. It took you five years to make a profit so it took you five years to find dumbfucks to overpay for your shitty merch from China. China resellers should count their blessings on dumbfucks as I said but from your own story it takes a lot of time to find dumbfucks willing to pay your markup so it’s not worth playing reseller on chink goods unless you’re lucky.

Price + decent quality gets you far I guess?

I work out plenty but I still find Gymshark and Under Armor to be too expensive to justify. They want their margins, I understand that, but I don't want to pay 20 USD for an athletic/breathing t-shirt.

>> No.26056369

Thanks for the motivational books. To give you my honest opinion, I don't think they do much for me, in part because I'm skeptical of those sort of "get rich without the details" books, and in part because I'm already sitting around $1MM so I'm probably not the target audience, but I'll still add them to my reading list.

So a more concrete question... I just thought of a product idea, maybe 5 minutes ago. It would be relatively cheap to produce, and functionally pretty simple (no moving parts, no electronics, just 2 or 3 cheap materials, small). However, its not just slapping a logo on a clothing item, assuming it doesn't exist it would be a unique product. After I look around on amazon, etsy, etc... to verify that the product doesn't already exist, what is my next step? I can build a prototype and then... what? Who do I contact re: manufacturing based off the prototype?

I'm not especially tied to this product idea, but its something I wish I had around and I don't think exists. But I've had ideas like this before (literally searching for some relatively simple product and getting frustrated that I cant buy it because it doesn't exist) so if its not this idea it'd be one of the others, and the same questions apply to them as well.

>> No.26056541

>>26048199
>but keep in mind you need 5 years of not being profitable before things start rolling.

Is this because you kept trying multiple products or was it on the marketing end? How many items did you go through before finding a winner? Or did you have market research done prior and purposely had something manufactured and branded because you knew it would sell and just started steal market share from competitors?

>> No.26056825

>>26056223
Lol you’re a waste of time

>>26056369
Build a prototype. If it’s gadget then I’m guessing you hire someone to create a 3D/CAD model out of that product. Then you give the CAD file to manufacturer. But I know very little about this area so I’d recommend doing some hard research.

Products like clothing or socks and shit aren’t complicated. So every product is in its own ballpark.

>>26056541
Marketing end. Most days I’d have $0 sales starting out. Inventory was low. Took it one step at a time and kept reinvesting my revenue into more inventory so that I’d be able to scale at large years down the line.

-Do you sell on Amazon as well?
-Are your suppliers Chinese or US manufactured?
-Have trademarks been relevant to you?
-What tools do you use to research a niche for clothing?

I work with sellers and do product research. Sportswear in general is very competitive so hats off to you for making it through your own marketing on Shopify. I'm also very surprised you don't have a team of VAs and are handling everything yourself. I'm willing to bet you can at least halve the time your spending on daily tasks with just a couple VAs.
