a month out makes sense normally, but I think prices right now are bit inflated because of the mania. $40 calls right now make sense in this short time frame. You wouldn't want to be holding a $40 call a month or two after a possible squeeze. I think the cheaper prices because of the low expiry date give a much better risk:reward. 2 weeks is the safest, friday is high:risk high reward, and month at most is the safest. Jan 29, Feb 12 and Feb 16 is when FINRA requires shorts to settle. at the level of mania and public speculation right now, I expect them to close aggressively on the 29th by all means possible.

also there's a reason no one is buying $50 calls. It's not because no one wants to buy them, it's that no one wants to sell them :)

-This stock was more than 7$ before covid (And before GIGANTIC amounts of quantitative easing inflated the dollar)

-Box office sales hit record highs in 2019

-Streaming TV/Movies did not replace "going to the movies". Box office sales actually hit record highs in 2019 and watching movies at home has been a thing for decades. Different audience, different service. I can cook at home, but I still order food and go to restaurants - why? Same principle for going to the cinema.

-AMC is not going bankrupt this year as of yesterday, 900m loan secured

-Large amount of movies are ready to be released in the cinemas

-People have spent the past year inside, they will be eager to go out

-Short interest last reported at 60%+ of float (probably more by now). Potential short squeeze happening

-Many 7$ calls expiring friday, IF price increases above 7$ before then, this will take of like a fucking ICBM

-A lot of smaller competetion wiped out due to COVID

Even without the short squeeze, this is a buy and hold opportunity. Could easily go back to 7$.

I hope you anons are right, for your sake.
But in no way is AMC like GME besides the rising amount of short interest (which isn't the only thing to consider). GME is unique because of its strong fundamentals, low stock outstanding and now national - if not international - hype/momentum.
AMC is a failed company that mismanaged funds and instead of recovering like CNK did, they continued to bleed out... Until yesterday when GME sold off. It was a temporary life raft for GME gains.
