if booden goes hard mode on clean energy that won't exclusively be solar, wind and EV nuclear energy will have a big role in future energy production. UUUU specifically is a good target to invest in because its largest uranium producer in US, expanded into rare earth production with a locked supply deal for another company and recently it got some govt funding that iirc is related to the US wanting to stockpile uranium. Also there's hope for price of uranium increasing which would of course benefit the company too. Keep in mind it's a long term hold. Recently it's been crabbing at support level.

Do any of you use those apps to play stock options with pretend money? Do you think it would help someone new or should I just put some real money in?

I tried everywhere to find a broker today. Their websites throw errors, are being ddosed, or the broker will just straight up tell you they can't buy GME for you. I even called a local one my Dad uses. She said they had a long meeting today about it and it was impossible to buy through them.

I feel like this is a good thing for me. More time to think about where to put the little money I have. More time to learn. Lurked here on and off but never had cash to get into anything.

Is there any advantage to using a local broker and eating their fees? My Dad is a boomer and he says it protects him from getting fucked by the IRS. I have five monitors hooked up to my computer already. I feel like it might be better to do it myself. I just want to sit on my ass and make a steady $500 a week. Is that doable with $6k of cash to start off?

My advice is use the lowest fee/most convenient broker in your country.
Get a job and buy stocks for a while. Once you are used to it and have sufficient capital. put a. it of it into options trading if you want and go from there.

it depends.
the market grows by about 10% a year (average not garuntee)
So if you just had an entirely stocks mixed portfolio in theory nit accounting for variance you'd need about $260,000 for passive income with profit taken annually.
How much you personally can beat the market by trading options?
the fucked if I know.
You can do anywhere from -100% to 1000000%. if you are trading options contracts like you want to.

>Do any of you use those apps to play stock options with pretend money? Do you think it would help someone new or should I just put some real money in?
Paper trading is only useful if you're confused on the actual mechanics of the trading platform. There is very little to be learned as far as trading skills go. Especially when accounting for slippage, spreads, partial fills, etc. what you see when paper trading can be very different from how real trading goes.
>GME
You aren't ready for meme stocks yet, anon so don't feel like you missed anything.
>Is there any advantage to using a local broker and eating their fees?
Not really. Any useful information you're likely to find to aid your trading will be found online so there's very little a local broker is going to do for you. That "personal touch" shit is from another time and you don't need to pay for it. As far as taxes go, there's no difference between what you're talking about and e.g. Robinhood or TDA.
>make a steady $500 a week. Is that doable with $6k of cash to start off?
You're gonna lose your money thinking like that. You don't tell the market what to do. You take what it gives. Some days that might be nothing, some days just a little, and some days you have to pay the piper. The best you can do is come up with a trading plan that has an edge, i.e., it makes more than it loses, execute that plan and see how things turn out. There are many trading methods that more or less work. Value investing where you buy big dips on good names like AAPL, TSM, etc. works. This is called mean reversion. You can also try trading with the trend, that is see what's moving up and buy in then get out when the trend heads back down. Momentum trading is what that's usually called.
At any rate, do some reading and pick something. In a few years when you figure out what you're doing you'll do okay.
Or just get lucky like me and go all in on something like SOXL on a big dip and ride it to the moon. That works too :)

Yeah. I had been following the stock on reddit for weeks. Decided to buy when the rate of memes creation increased. I think memes alone is a good investment indicator.

Decided to sell today when blatant manipulation in pre-market became evident. Better to sell, chill and lose some adrenaline and plan my next move.

I've tried both and I know a lot of people IRL that have tried both and it is absolutely not the same. The emotional impact and a large portion of a trader's success comes from emotion control, is lost when paper trading. I've ran accounts up simulated millions of dollars on paper and then tried the same trading live and not made a dime. Maybe paper trading helps some people but nobody I've ever seen or known in person. I've seen claims that it helps but none that I've ever been able to verify.

Can anyone help reunforce my justification on a 9.95 comission fee? I'm thinking of opening a personal investing account in a central bank. Now I think the comission is offset for 2 reasons. It is very convenient for me to have all my finances under one institution, that way I can transfer/withdraw without any complications of having to go through two different companies. Also, the amount of data and support they offer from the client alone will really help streamline my decisions as I continue to invest.
One problem is my initial amount I would be starting with is small. It isn't a 10k portfolio that is for sure. Small enough that I could start doubting the 9.95 fees. Though this won't be a problem the more time passes as I'd be putting money into it every month.
What do you think friends? I am 95% sure I know what I will be doing, but I'd like to hear your opinion if only as a devils advocate.

its only lucky that he made THIS much, NOT that he made a lot. i know what youre saying, and i agree. literally until last friday i was actively making fun of people for thinking GME was going to shortsqueeze. then all this shit happened. reacting to that situation and NOT selling too much too early makes him a good trader, and that's on TOP of him being a good enough investor to buy that much, that early, roll options correctly, and hold
what the fuck is your point here? that he's stupid because he didnt panic sell the bottom today? that was a good move based on the current dynamics of the stock and market. he was also very smart to take lots of profits before this and lock them in
again, what the hell is your point

I'm not seething. Stop projecting. How do you know i wont have 11 million dollars in my life time? He did it too late. He is going to be flogged by Bidens Tax squad after he blows that money on booze, strippers and his homies. I've known people who have spent less and won more. I have comfily turned my measily 500$ into 9k and climbing. You are being an extremely uncomfy. I suggest you take your DSLs back to wsb where they are sure to enjoy your loose rectum.

I agree with everything you said. My point was that he got incredibly lucky to be where he is that’s all. it’s once in 10 generations of trading lucky.

its not luck you fucking jealous faggot, he did his research, found the play, acted on it, made his moves correctly for TWO FUCKING YEARS, and risked tens of thousands of his own money to reach this point. just because you were too stupid or too ignorant to have this on your radar doesnt mean everyone was. post your fucking cost average for GME right now or stop posting
and coomcat is based, fuck you
