There is an important story in this GME / AMC short squeeze.

Yes people are buying just to make money...BUT at a societal subconscious level it is because people really love movies and vidya and both need a physical representation.

Just like when religious institutions or academic institiutions or about to go bankrupt donors come out of nowhere and rescue them.

This is what is happening, gamestop is the church for vidya and the movie theaters are the church for kino persons.

AMC and GameStop are NOT going bankrupt, this has made people realize what a world without these stores would look like.

People will return to the movies, and people will go to GameStop to try out VR goggles in person.
