What is BCRX worth?

The answer to that is different today than it will be in 6 months and beyond, but I recently came across a very well written analysis. It walked through the 2 currently approved drugs as well as those in the pipeline discussing potential market share and pricing and arriving at a value for each. It included links to editable charts that showed the assumptions used and you could change as you saw fit to more align with your own expectations. The author of the article arrived at a value of $184/share.

Do I think that is obtainable? No I do not. However the analysis on of each catalyst was spot on and each very reasonably could happen. I made my last purchase in March of last year and have an average purchase price of $2.30 so I am obviously pleased with the recent action and am holding strong, but I have been asking myself what is this Company really worth. In my opinion it is much higher than the current market cap of $1.75B. Is it $32B which would be the market cap at the price of $184 mentioned in the article? Probably not.

The article focused primarily on Orladeyo and BCX9930. In fact 90% of the value they arrived at was from those two. We will soon know what value Orladeyo is bringing and in the not so distant future should know more on BCX9930. BCX9930 has the potential to be a blockbuster best in class and FDA has granted it fast track designation.

So what are we worth? That is my question? Up until recently I never would have thought this could get as high as I do now. What if we were worth only 20% of what Alexion got bought for?
