If they are going to collapse, the Gov will likely do that to preserve the skills and industry for military. But UK is not USA. They wont give one shit about share holders and will take the stance of they took the risk and lost, company will be wrapped tight in Gov red tape. When the Gov bailed out certain banks during the financial crisis they did such, go look at the Royal bank of Scotland for example and zoom the weekly chart out to 2008 and see how well that worked out for share holders, or Lloyds bank, not as bad as RBS but still never recovered. Most banks actually choose not to recieve the bailout due to the Gov terms in the end.
