I put $500 in coinbase and bought ETH.
I traded it for ALGO

Is this trade a good idea or no?
I'll add more money in a few days when i free up some liquidity.

I dont care about ALGO, but can somebody please tell me why this board sucks so fucking much? I was trying to start some thread about ethereum, serious discussion. My thread was archived straight away, in the meantime some stupid pajeet is allowed to shill his shitty double MM coin.

What the heck guys? Why I cant have some discussion on this board?

Nigger we've been having serious discussions about ethereum for the last 4 years, where have you been? You think we want to talk about that shit every single day? No, we want to joke about Vitalik looking like he has aids and find new gems like ALGO.

>> No.28411503

I bought ALGO early last year and honestly thought it would top out at a dollar at best due to the supply cap. It's great tech with a great team, but even I'm kinda shocked at how great it's been doing. I honestly don't know how high it could go. 3 bux seems reasonable at this point.

bro,im new and was trying to figure out how to buy $HOGE like an idiot... but coinbase wouldnt let me take out my ETH for almost a week.

I've come to my senses in the process, and just want to play the cryptos on coinbase for now. ALGO looks good

ALGO dev portal is amazing, the split contract in ALGO is so easy.

https://developer.algorand.org/tutorials/split-contract-template-javascript/

On ETH its hacky not easily possible or desirable to run that code live and of course requires a whole lot of testing before going live
Example:
https://ethereum.stackexchange.com/questions/63203/is-it-possible-to-split-single-solidity-contract-across-multiple-files

>> No.28412132

>PoS vs PoW
I understand that the implementation of PoW is at least partly responsible for ethereum's scalability problems. does ALGO's PoS system compromise on any of the functionality allowed by PoW? I've been reading up on this and as far as I can tell algo is basically already ETH 2.0.

There isn't anything wrong in staying on Coinbase, prevents rugpulls. Just wanted to make sure you know you can purchase ALGO on Coinbase.

Also you'll get Lifetime rewards for just holding ALGO

move your algo to algorand wallet (this is an app for phones) as soon as coinbase lets you. coinbase cucks you out of at least 1% of your staking returns, algo wallet will give you it all. the transactions should be quick because algo has been so fast in my experience. i dumped eth because gas fees in addition to 30+ minute transfer times finally got to me, paying 30% of your transaction value on ETH is a huge negative imo.

Yeah the 2/3 still applies like in all PoS

ZIL does a nuanced hybrid PoW and PoS at the same time that theoretically is more secure.

All the major ETH hacks I remember have been caused by poorly written contracts. ALGO takes you away from the silly "Contract Language" to languages which are more well known and testable against.
