I jpicked up 400 shares of PLTR at just under $25. To me it looks extremely bullish. Logically, pretend you want to take a stock public, but you don't want the share price to collapse after lockout expires. How would you go about engineering that? Answer: massage your financials to show unexpected losses for the quarter and issue the report just a few days before lockout expiry. This will drive share prices down and discourage insider selling all at once because it will be generally understood among insiders that the quarter's poor performance (per the books) was an accounting artifact. Once you survive the lockout expiry without killing your share price, you're basically golden, as insiders will gradually sell shares at various times and prices and there will be no sudden massive sell-off event for the foreseeable future. It makes perfect sense.

I also believe that the stock holding at $25 after a bear run is a very bullish signal in general.

But what if I was the only person to buy that option contract? This happens to me a lot where the 50 that fill for me are the only open interest for the ENTIRE DURATION of the contract. You don't know how much it is worth until a bot fills you or doesn't. How can any tax service know how much my option is worth at any given point?

If it's based on the last sale that can easily be gamed. If it is based on the bid ask spread then even more easily manipulated. It makes no sense.
