Usually there's a dip at opening but in this case every small time investor around the world is buying the opening so the pump might just start right away. I really wish I knew what the hedgeies plans were but we can't know.
With whatever broker you're using order a stock of GME now and you will buy at the opening as quickly as they can get the order fulfilled. Depending how fast the order is fulfilled you'll probably pay quite a bit more or less than what it will be after the pre-market. If the order is taking way too long to be fulfilled then cancel it and move on.
If you don't already hold GME only buy maybe 1 stock I don't know what your situation is but if you don't already own GME you're not going to get rich so don't bother even trying assume you'll lose the money and sell too late.

The problem is people started speculating with stocks instead of trading and stacking them for divvies. The market could be fixed pretty quickly with a law requiring all traded stocks to pay dividends. Then people would actually invest based on the fundamentals which increase the likelihood of maintaining the dividend, which maintains the stock's listing. That said, it'd also become incredibly boring again and possibly kill most options trading.

Sure, if taken in a vacuum. But we are only in a vacuum of shares! Look at the low volume over the last few days, there is nothing to suck up. What we saw happen next is very likely the result of positions building up over the last 3 weeks. The GME stock has been blue balled for a while after the bullshit pulled by RH. The stock sat at 50 for a while, then down to 40 for a while. This caused a huge influx of call options at a $50 strike price. This morning there were 22k call options at 50. That is 2.2M shares if it finishes in the money. We all know the available shares are fucking gone with the low volume and our diamond bros. So - the catalyst took us from 45 up to solidly over 50. So where does that leave us for tomorrow? Well, short interest sitting at 15m shares from 2/12 - doesn't tell us much. It has very likely increased even according to S3 since that time. Though this is only the reported SI mind you. We all know there are tons of shorts out there hiding in the EFT brushes.
So we look at the situation: finishing at 168 in the aftermarket with a whopping 40M aftermarket volume - they ain't done. Also - how many fucking late train jumpers are going to try to get a slice of our pie? So many! You don't see a stock jump 200-300% in a day and just sit on your hands, gotta make that money!
Caveat - There is no way to know what will actually happen. But what is true - they need shares. If the price continues to go up, the chance shorts will be called goes up. At 150 there were another 1.5k calls, and at 200 another 1.1k that the market makers will have to buy to cover the call options including all the options in between. That doesn't include any other dates either!
Tons more on 3/19 to cover going all the way up. If this thing hits 800..... it's fucking over. 6k calls on 2/26 and 6k more on 3/19 - the market makers will have to cover those calls too!
