I’m hedged pretty well for income and growth in c classic 60/40 stock bond mix with some other shit in there. Was scared to open long term account but I just did and it only took a 0.13% hit today. Think of where buying comes from in bull markets. Lots of people borrow with margin, loans, or leverage via call options.

Basically there is the upward pressure that increases as a bull market keeps going up and a lot of it is borrowed or leveraged. If nothing else changed, the market can be pushed up near indefinitely with leverage alone. As it goes up, you can borrow more, in a vacuum this goes to infinitely.

Think how insane that is, but it's really what happens with our current monetary system and borrowing. So basically the record call buying, high margin rates, leverage, etc all comes crashing down in pullbacks like this. It's why melt ups blow up at the top because people realize it becomes more and more "borrowed" money or leverage actually buying.

It's a natural part of the system and creates this momentum.
