>Palantir (NYSE:PLTR) stock is taking a beating on Thursday after news of a lawsuit against the U.K.’s National Health Service (NHS).

>The lawsuit comes from Open Democracy, a political news website in the U.K. The lawsuit is over the NHS extending a contract with Palantir in December. This £23.5 million and will last for two years.

>Open Democracy’s issue with the extended contract has to do with the nature of the deal. It was extended without input from the public. The publication also claims that the deal was made with the help of a top NHS official that PLTR lobbied.

>Cori Crider, director of Foxglove, the non-profit legal group representing Open Democracy, said the following to the BBC.

>“The datastore is the largest pool of patient data in UK history. It’s one thing to set it up on an emergency basis, it’s a different kettle of fish to give a tech firm like Palantir a permanent role in NHS infrastructure.”

Once at my university’s gym last year. I met someone who browsed /tv/ and befriended him. I plan on stop using 4chan once I make a decent amount of money and get a high paying job, but then again I just don’t like the whole mainstream culture here in Commiefornia where it’s mandatory to have TikTok or Snapchat or any form of social media website otherwise you’re off the grid. The indices are so fucking weak, ending yesterday with 80% short volume. It honestly looks like NQ will do a 20% correction, landing it in the ~11k range, if that doesn't hold there then re-test the high before the crash happened last year which would be ~9.7k.. if THAT doesn't hold then fucking RIP

Google investing strategies, value vs. growth etc. Also read up on the behavior of equity vs commodities vs REITS etc. Or the behavior of high dividend stocks vs growth stocks. Most of this shit is on the internet, I don't think you need books to get a few general principles

Also, look up some of the macro-economic relations between stocks and interest rates, money supply, bond yield etc.

As a rule, investing gets more risky according to your time frame. Stocks that go up real quick can go down real quick. Markets also price in risk and time: if you have to hold stock for a long time to see growth, that's an opportunity cost. So a lot of low-risk undervalued stock is a very nice opportunity if you're willing to just hold a few years.

My personal preference is value investing in healthy, undervalued companies that already do well and that I predict will do even better. Real pain in the ass to find though.

No problem. By the way, you should also understand that even good companies shrink their stock in a market crash (which we may have soon). That's because a lot of portfolios of people over-leveraged in growth stock get liquidated in such a situation. In the stock market, there's always something to worry about, it's just how it is.

Which is surprising to me. I don't understand anything about investing as everyone can see, but I always thought the value of stocks is derived from their dividends. As long as the company does well its guaranteed income. If a stock never returns anything why does it have value to a private investor? Even if the company you invested in does well you get nothing from it. Of course in reality you can sell the stock for profit to other people when the company does well, but those would then also only buy the stock to sell it to others for an even higher price. The entire process seems stupid.

They buy it hoping it will be even more expensive in the future. Market right now has nothing to do with fundamental value.

It's not entirely true that value derives from dividends. A very high dividend can be an indicator that the company does not expect to grow much more (as a dividend is capital that cannot be re-invested).

Dividend investing is safe but slow. A 5% return on your investment is very low. That's why most people invest hoping the stock price will go up.

Yes, it is. And you can see it most clearly in the case of a company like Tesla which has a 2000 PE ratio (15 is normal, 30 is expensive) and which is basically a complete scam (www.tesladeaths.com). Meanwhile even a large producer like Kinross Gold has a large dividend and a PE ratio of 8. That's why mining stocks are utterly going to soar when "the turn" comes and people rush out of the overvalued into the undervalued.

@newsfile/bayhorse-amends-terms-of-7500000-unit-non-brokered

The Silver Option may only be exercised after the Company successfully mines and processes silver from the Bayhorse property prior to the maturity date of the Warrants, provided that the Company, at its sole discretion, delivers written notice to each Warrant holder that they shall have the right to receive payment in kind by delivery of physical ounces of silver; and
The exercise of the Silver Option is subject to a minimum of five thousand (5,000) Warrants (25 ounces of silver)
