Explain what EIP 1559 will do for my family.

>> No.29844053

Optimistic rollups will save eth.

Need it implemented in early March with uniswap adopting it by April.

Otherwise eth will and deserves to die

Optimistic rollups are far bigger for ETH than EIP 1559 and it will go live next month

No fren, you have no idea what's coming. This 2k shit is just a taste.
If you really think hundereds of Billions of assets are just gonna up and migrate away from the winning chain go ahead and buy the next "eth killer".

EIP 1559 basically shits on the miners in exchange for cheaper user fees. I'm a little hesitant on it because this may lead to less stable network.

>> No.29844282

>ETH is decentralized!!!!111
meanwhile the DAO incident happened
meanwhile the development is completely centralized in a small circlejerk

>> No.29844420

>>29844192
>EIP 1559 basically shits on the miners
It doesn't. ETH will still be the most profitable coin to mine and only a fraction of the fee will get burned
>>29844282
>meanwhile the development is completely centralized in a small circlejerk
You're free to change code and open a pull request.

>> No.29844463

>>29844192
It doesn't really shit on miners though. They get lower fees per transaction, but alleviating the gas problems will result in more transactions, as well as more valuable eth. So they still win overall. Especially if the alternative is they get to keep high fees but ETH unironically dies under the weight of the fees. In which case they get nothing anyway. So the calculus is clear here.

I'm also free to attempt that with Chromium. It doesn't mean development isn't completely centralized.

Sure sharding and layer 2 is nice. Doubling the block size and shitting on BTC maxis is nice too.
Arbitrum will win btw.

That's what some faggot developers told you. The difference in mining profitability in staggering when block rewards are 15 ETH compared to 2 ETH. Lowering block rewards has always been the promise to stop ETH from bleeding that has never panned out. I will be dumping my GPUs early this summer hopefully for a 10x and I'm out.
