I used to mine BTC in 2010 to test my CPU overclocks, that's what we used to do on /g/ over 10 years ago, but I didn't see any point in Bitcoin itself, so I never stuck with it.

Yeah, I don't remember if I ever actually successfully found a block when I was mining, we would just run it for a few minutes and watch the hashrate, I did all my stability testing with prime95 so I don't think I ever mined long enough to actually get a reward, I wish I could remember though.

Back in 2011 I was mining BTC with a 5970. I was making 1 BTC every other day. I stopped after 3 and lost them all on an old shitty bitcoin investment platform.
