are you going to put your chainlink onto blockfi anons? its 5.5% APY which sounds amazing desu. i keep my 56k link on binance so i'm still hesitant to keep it all on there but i dont feel like binance is too much better. What are you planning tomorrow?

5.5% isn’t entirely unreal. these rates are for degenerate margin traders and institutional traders btw. ftx was offering 100% apy for usd stable coins just recently but it only lasted a couple weeks during extreme volatile period. another example, default rate for bitmex longs is 0.01% over 8 hours. it varies a lot but that’s a good benchmark rate to compare what’s realistic.

short answer: price manipulation
long answer: price manipulation, specifically supression; CEXes borrow from blockfi, Celcius, Nexo, etc at 8-10% to stack the sell book and cause bleeds and dumps via market selling, mostly in sats and gwei but also USD
>why borrow centralized and not via Aave?
i can think of a couple reasons
1) don't let LINKies have trustless yield out of spite
2) CEXes don't want to take on smart contract risk
3) they don't want any on chain evidence of their price suppression fuckery
4) liquidity concerns maybe
