Normal assets don't really trade on weekend, they close on Friday and reopen Monday. The CME gap is the price difference between CME futures contracts at closing Friday and spot price of Bitcoin on exchanges. People usually expect the CME futures price to close the gap at opening, but it doesn't always do so immediately, sometimes it takes a couple weeks. It's a single indicator, not king indicator.
