the labor shortage meme is a psyop to reduce the bargaining power of labor even further, it's not actually real

You know how people game welfare by taking interviews which they don't plan on actually trying for? Companies do that in reverse.

>the labor shortage meme is a psyop to reduce the bargaining power of labor even further
that makes no sense
spreading the rumor about labor shortage increases the median price for labor, especially qualified

Companies are always crying for workers because creating an image of a certain job being in high demand is beneficial for them, as it incentivises people to go into that field which ironically makes it high supply instead, benefiting the corporations

It makes perfect sense. They are all trying to cover up the fact that they are laying everyone off and half of these companies arent even solvent anymore. They are inflating themselves up as desperate for workers to make themselves still seem like they are functioning. My last job laid an entire department off and then I see the same job openings on Indeed a week later.

They would see the company go under before pulling a single head out of an ass.The vast majority of companies just come down to hire competent people for the least amount of money to just work horse the profits for everyone else.

The psyop is to garner popular support for more foreign workers to increase supply, thus driving down costs.

The mentality that they have all of the leverage and the work force has none has to shatter before things change. Fortunately you're seeing signs of desperation by the establishment everywhere. It'll get worse before it gets better.

I'm really interested by this dynamic. It seems like a totally new phenomenon. People are just not fucking having it--especially the diversity they thought they could push even harder than the native workers. I don't think a "recession" will even be enough to cow anyone anymore. People seem sincerely done with the shit regardless of the consequences and threats. Interesting times for sure. You have to be careful how you say things, but it might not be possible to unpop this popcorn.

It's new in modern times. You can have thugs beat up striking union members, but you can't beat up a general attitude of "fuck it, I'll hold out for more".
