Wait for the bills to go to collections and then negotiate to pay the collection company pennies on the dollar. Medical bills sent to collections do not go on your credit report when sent to collections unless you dont pay the collector for 1 year. They do this to give you time to work with the insurance company. Hospitals also charge out the ass because they know most people arent going to pay it anyway and they're just trying to fleece people out of as much money as possible.
