I’m about to turn 31 and I’m still living at my parents. What was suppose to me a few months has turned into a year. I can’t seem to move out, I’m paying 500 a month rent while the cheapest apartment is 1500 to live in the ghetto. How do I not feel like a failure?

This has been the norm throughout most of human history. The "get kicked out when you turn 18" meme didn't begin until boomers had a good enough economy that you could reasonably buy a house and raise a family on your own in your early 20's with literally any job ever.

and then you probably kill yourself or something.

It does suck, feels emasculating, but at the same time you have to wonder why chinks do this and never shame their kids, even other races let their kids stay home. If you don't have a good job or career, then that's another story and you should feel like a loser because you are a loser. As long as you're working a decent job and/or improving yourself then there's no use in beating yourself up. As long as you don't stay home and do absolutely nothing, then don't feel too bad. Boomers will never understand or admit how hard it is for young adults now. Things are absurdly expensive, boomers were effectively getting paid 30/hr min wage if you compare it to today's wages and rent/good prices.

LOL why? Paying utilities is completely reasonable, paying for food or even taking your folks out on a dinner excursion or get together whatever is also totally acceptable but paying RENT lol that's absurd. Why doesn't everyone live in the midwest? moved back after living on the west coast for 15 years, and its better in every way. Cheaper, nicer people, 4 seasons.
In minneapolis, you can get a pretty nice place for 1500 a month in a gentrified area or even downtown. even cheaper in st paul. As a server (the highest paying no skill job you can get if you work somewhere halfway decent) you make $15 plus tips. Serving drinks/food will net you 30+ /hr easily at the right place. I don't see how everyone is always so poor and struggling to get by. Add two people in the equation, and you have absolutely no problem getting by and starting a family. i dont understand how everyone is so poor.

That is NORMAL. Traditionally, families would band together, pool their resources, and pass assets from one generation to the next. Living together was the norm, not the exception. This idea that people should be thrown out on the street at 18 is a relatively recent phenomenon in human history and entirely predicated on the assumption that the kid can thrive in society on their own. This practice DOES NOT WORK IN OUR FAILING SOCIETY. Boomers seem to believe that, just because they could afford a house and car and family with no education and a minimum wage job back in the 1960's, that people today can. IT'S NO LONGER TRUE AND NO LONGER A LUXURY THAT PEOPLE CAN AFFORD.

He didn't have to let anyone live there to be honest but I think he was bored as hell plus he didn't want to do all the upkeep work by himself either. Hey worked out good for me. I got a cheap place to live, got to spend time outdoors and got to hang out with my friends for a few more years. Really the only thing I done other than pitch in for food/utility costs was keep the place mowed. Another friend had the idea of partitioning off a section of the barn into a separate room for storage. Turned out it made a nice little spot for when you had a girl over. A makeshift bed, some lights, and a lock on the door and you were set..

You're seen as a loser with no 'life experience' all a guise so that retarded children go out and get roped into some shitass mortgage they'll be paying for the next 4 decades
It's a jewish scam, most of which are retarded enough to fall into
i'm in my mid 20s, been neeting for awhile, paying rent and supporting me mum love her. There's a total lack of privacy and any relationship with a female is impossible. My brother despises me and wants me on the streets, so i'm most likely just going to leave soon cba with his toxicity

Negotiate a $0 rent and then it makes more sense.

But hey, its not that bad if you are saving them money, reducing consooming by not furnishing your own apartment, paying less for utilities and services, cooking all-together, etc, you get the idea.

It has a greater present value in the long run unless you need space to build your own projects.

I'm watching YT clips right now with my widow mother, as I've been living in the family house house since May. It sucks balls but hey, I bring happiness and ideas to the house, I save money, I have time to study music/skills and look for better jobs and a gf.

Part of me would like to, but it might only make sense if I go into a lower paying career.

Let's assume $250k/year pre-tax
My after-tax pay in Washington state is $179,420.

In Ohio, it would be $166,178.
In Michigan, $165,262
In Kentucky, it would be $161,554
(LA would be $159,626 kek)

As we can see, midwestern states want to charge me seemingly between $13k-18k. Wtf?

If I drop the codenigger job, maybe I'll be back soon. With this much tax though, I'd have to save $1000-1500/month just to start breaking even. Now, I'm sure I could save that much, but it's a pretty big handicap.

The males work and live at home. Most are saving for a house or fulling in vidya/crypto.
Desperately hoping for a housing crash they know won't happen, and knowing they were too late for crypto. Mostly turned off from college and careers, they don't trust institutions, but all find themselves as some form of conservative, fascist, and or libertarian.

breh I used to live with rents into my mid 20's and I felt like a failure. Looking back, it wasn't me living at home as much as me not finding out a good career path for myself. If you're 31 and live with them but you're working and getting on with your career, DO NOT give into the normie shame of living at home. It's FAKE and GAY. I say this because you can save money by living with your parents instead of living with niggers and paying more. This whole game of life is a jewish illusion. Your main goal is to NOT be in debt. Your parents can help you with that. So what, the roasties on tinder or whatever don't like it. You unironically don't want them in your life anyway. Moved out from a poorfag household when I was 19, pretended to be an adult for 11 years, living on my own and paying rent to Mr.Goldberg after all is le adult thing, amirite? Dating too, I'm a big boi now, women will now care for my broke ass just because I live on my own, right? After 11 years of doing nothing but work->sleep->work->sleep I've moved back with my parents at 30 because I wanted to work remotely (a month before Covid hit) and didn't want to pay rent. I've always been the autistic weirdo in any class throughout my education, hated all of it, especially high school. Turned out modern workforce is just more of high school and I was more than happy not to listen about Harry Potter analogies in modern politics during mandatory meetings. Now I'm 32, running my own business from my room and parents are old and ill, thus happy there's someone fit to help around the house. Not to be an asshole I've agreed to pay some bills since they skyrocketed. I'm actually happy for the first time in my life now that I stopped caring about what normies expect from me, though I didn't dump the idea of a family completely, can't let merchants win.

I don't live at home but I agree with this. Why is it considered natural for people to get roommates completely unrelated to them but keeping the household together unnatural? The way it should be is the family sticks together, works together to get a bigger house that can hold a wife and child, and then maybe after the kid is potty trained the family splits off. I bought it for $30k because you could pick up a shitty fixer upper for that much back then.

I replaced the floor boards, I went under the craw space and ran new plumbing, I retired the bathroom and kitchen, I bought a new furnace for it, I replaced the windows...I could go on.

Personally I don’t see any problem at all if you’re putting in money to pay bills, buy groceries and other shit the house needs, etc. Thats less financial burden on the family since their children will now be forking some dough over to handle house affairs and the children don’t have to fork over thousands every month just to inhabit some shitty apartment from a face that only comes around to be a pain in the ass. Doing so also gives said children ample time and breathing room to save a shitton of money whether they work an actual career or basic wagie job to have an opportunity to actually get their own real estate and not risk getting completely fucked. Even if your family is shit it still makes infinitely more sense to collaborate together unless you have a once in a lifetime opportunity you cannot possibly miss, and the only reason IMO this fell out of vogue for a few decades is because landlords needed more wagies. Thing is like many other things in society today the pyramid scheme is collapsing because the ones at the top kept grabbing for more and more. So now boomers can kvetch to the nursing nome all they want, shit is changing everywhere including the moving out meme.

i hate my immediate family, they are financially retarded and would suck me down. they're lazy, give in to instant gratification spending with no long term thinking, then complain about the resulting lack of money. my brother is 34 and has no credit card. his wages are garnished because he did not pay back his loan for culinary school. for a while he was doing paycheck cashing services.

there's literally no amount of money that would make me go back to living in that kind of environment for longer than 24 hours. i envy people with parents and immediate family they can get along with, to the point they live comfortably under the same roof to save up for a mortgage down payment. that concept is totally foreign to me.
