Should I open a bar during these times? I'm also wondering if anybody has any experience with getting a business loan and if they can point me in the right direction. This is a long time dream for me and I'm hoping I can pull it off...tired of wage slaving.

absolute minimum requirements for profitability in bars:
1. Attractive, flirtatious bartenders/waitresses
2. Decent food
3. Blackmail against the Liquor control board

If you can get approved for a Jew loan then sure worst that can happen is they take your shit and won't give you more. But you'll feel like a happy biz owner for a little while. Nothing worse than restauranteur larp

Liquor licenses cost more than you can afford and no jew bank will give you money to open a bar.

The liquor license will likely be over 500k alone, depending on the size of your community

lmao where did you get that number from?
It's more like $3k

The lease is the kicker. If it is too expensive you struggle to pay the landlord while he sails around the Mediterranean, and eventually you sell the bar for $1 just to hand the lease to some other schmuck. If it is a new business and therefore sales are unknown it is a gamble regarding the lease, you might negotiate 3 months rent free or an early exit clause.
A bank will only make a business loan on an established business with 3 years audited accounts. Even then it is a risk because they don't know you. They could make a loan with your house as collateral.

it's around $2K for a liquor license here

You clearly haven't looked into this as much as you claim. There are limited numbers of licenses issued, and the bars that have them renew them. So you are trying to procure a license from not the state, but another bar owner. They won't sell it to you for 3000 dollars.

>drunk loud people acting like idiots
>minorities and college chads starting fights
>blacks showing up looking for racism as an excuse to break things
>shady people selling drugs, using your business as the front door to theirs as they meet up with clientele or try to gain new customers
>easy to dine and dash (Brb, going for a smoke)
Unless you're in an upscale neighborhood or small town where you can rough up troublemakers I wouldn't recommend it. These are the headaches that follow on top of the typical administrative responsibilities. Not to mention the high turnover of staff. Your employees will be the people who's short/long term goals are 'work at the bar'.
They'll always be looking to skip shifts or be on maternity leave or not show up, and then have the gall to complain about their pay or lack of tips for carrying food and drink 20 feet from the bar to the customer.
If you know a little Philippine guy who'll be your cook you may have a rock to build a foundation, but unless you're laundering money I wouldn't suggest it.
And if you're laundering money, just open a tattoo parlor.

i've thought about bars/cafe with liquor license but liquor license and clientele seem like so much trouble. ever notice how most bar/restaurant owners are balding?

over years i've thought long and hard and the only two businesses i want to open are bubble tea shops and laundromats. the bubble tea shop will attract asian and white weeb girls of a prime age group, some of which i will hire and fuck. for the laundromat, i will hire prime latinx teens. no """"thicccc"""" bodies please, just healthy, tight teenagers. sometimes i will go in and help fold laundry, then i will take the panties of the attractive customers as a tip.

Don't see why not - might be a cheaper lease too. You gonna convert a warehouse or something? It has potential. Do a business plan etc. If your set up costs are not too high and you are prepared to fail and lose your money then why not have a go.

If you have zero restaurant management experience, do not do it. You're better off dca'ing that 60k during the downturn. Only consider this if 1)Texas allows legalized gaming terminals 2) you can obtain a license for legalized gaming terminals in your establishment. This is where the money is at.
