Why isn't bitcoin slowing down, holy shit

Was I stupid to think that altcoins would grow extremely well in satoshis once bitcoin became supermassive? After all, it takes a gigafucktonne of money to grow BTC 5% now, but nothing in comparison to make a single alt grow 5%
