Fast food margins are already not so great. So because nearly all their food costs have increased from 70-100% in many cases in the last 3 years.

How did they decided to deal with this problem? By buying even lower quality goyslop to serve and pushing and by transition to nearly all plant based products which are much cheaper.

There's no demand for good service because everyone is depressed/sensitive/phone addicted/pacified. There are no consequences for garbage wagie behavior. And if you do complain all that happens is you get pacified with free pizzas etc. Dress codes have been made lax to where women can wear leggings. There is no pride in work anymore and you can't blame them: there are incentives and safety nets that allow trash behavior to go unpunished; the worst that can happen is you lose your job and get paid to be jobless.

Some people in customer service really care about doing their jobs well and try to please people from a place of empathy (me at least). Though at the end of the day it is just a paycheck and a relatively easy job since I don’t do it in a retail setting. I wouldn’t mind moving up to a better paid position if it meant I could work the same amount but considered I only work 3 hours a day I doubt I can do better. It can be difficult to deal with some people who believe that we control entire companies and have to cater to their every demand.

You can buy a t-shirt for $10, and last year you could buy a t-shirt for $10, therefore zero inflation! Not factored is that the shirt is now made with cheaper fabric and stitching to reduce costs. It's like shrinkflation, except it happens with goods and services everywhere. 60 years ago houses were much cheaper relative to incomes, and things like hardwood flooring would be standard, now hardwood is considered premium flooring that few are willing to pay for.

There are still high quality goods and services available, you can get high quality food, clothes, and houses, but they are becoming more and more expensive every year and further out of reach for low and middle income groups as income disparity has been increasing faster and faster.

I find the thing that suffered the least from price hike and quality decline are things like a whole raw chicken.

McDonald keeps raising prices but the quality is still good, depending on the location. I find that the McDonalds at the rich area, especially business district, within a mall under an office building that isn't 24/7, it is best as there are long term workers who aren't stressed out from dealing with bums and crackheads..
