I used to be a software engineer working at a big software company. I was one of a small handful of go-to people who got called into a project when the project was "in the red" -- ie. a shitshow in desperate need of help to avoid failing completely. I got put on one such project which had been staffed by some other developers up to that point. Those developers were patted on the back and moved to other projects. I, and a couple other "fixers," fixed the project.

I remember a couple months after the project ended, I was in the break room and one of the original developers was in there talking to someone about the project and all the work he did for it and how much he contributed to this successful project etc. Little did he know, literally 100% of his code was thrown in the fucking garbage and rewritten by me, because every single thing he wrote was shitty codebase-destroying ass cancer. Yet there he was, still collecting a paycheck months later, thinking he had contributed something to our fucked little species. People like this exist either due to the inefficiency of massive companies where the managers don't know enough detail to understand how useless they are, or these people are allowed to exist intentionally just to help subjugate and enslave people like me with an endless workload of babysitting and cleaning up retard shit.
