Turns out the guy who gonna check my Kafka PR is on a 1 week vacation he didn't tell anyone about

How sad I need that to be merged in and consumed by another service before I can start on my next ticket

Guess I will be "reviewing code"(shitpost on biz, play vidya and look at asian qt 3,14s on bdsmvilla) this week

good times will never end for us
here's a toast to all bizbros who did not embrace the wfh life, may their commutes be fruitless and their office hours filled with doing the needful

also waiting for some UI components for a new internal tool for some ads marketing, the UX designer is already 9 days late. I might write in that ticket , a passive aggressive comment why it's taking so long though

I work only 3-4 hours a day while getting paid (relative to my country’s standard of living) comfortably that allows me to buy a house, have 3-4 kids and have decent meals. Just had my first baby, 3 more coming soon.

WFH currently. but im taking a new job soon thats 30% more money with 3 days in the office. i feel like WFH is making me in to an unsociable shut in. need to get back out and mix with the general population before i become institutionalised

When the wfh thing started I was basically doing real work about 20% of the time and stalling the other 80%. Now I literally don’t do real work ever. I’ve been successfully stalling for 6+ months, essentially being a paid NEET who clocks in and out. It’s amazing how incompetent the system of a Fortune 500 company is. I haven’t even gotten a checkup message.

don't you enjoy going out with coworkers for 2 hour lunches, having a few drinks and then staring into space all afternoon?

we're being pressured back into working from home. we're supposed to be "hot desking" and given they're hiring like crazy they've ran out of room for all of the wagies so they work from home on a rota

I started doing 110%, since I had just gotten a really big raise. 3 months later I was done.
Started doing the bare minimum, and to this day it's been the same.

100k government wagie wfh job but without any career growth, and they also want us to eventually come back to office 1 day per week. Should I be more ambitious and try to get a better job/career to move up the ladder? WFH has completely ruined my career outlook.

You could just tell them to shove off but 100k is pretty good. I make 66k plus some bonuses.
