Why is it in America it seems like everyone gets paid a lot and yet everyone's still poor? I earn 35K in Europe and I've never had to worry about money and always had enough for anything I've needed + a huge rainy day fund.

same here, 35k and i have no idea why americans feel poor with a 6fig salary

Because I have a person in my immediate friend group that makes slightly more than me so I need to make more to win

Because Americans lie about how much money they make constantly. He probably makes like 134 and rounds it up. They also always say the gross income whereas Europeans will tell you their net income, big difference.

SS black belt can do it. You just need to move from IC to management. Even technical program management will clear you into the mid 6 figures.

Is $140k your base or TC?

Holy shit, are you me?
Just found out I'm getting a raise to $140K but feel like this is the plateau. I really like the company I work for so I don't want to be one of those job hoppers every 2 years.
On a side note it's pretty funny how all these companies are laying wagies off while I'm getting the big bucks.

Yeah I don't wanna fuckin leave right now. I'm at a f100, going to a startup or some shit seems insane right now plus my benefits are $5 a month and they pay my internet bill. Like the other anon said I guess we will have to push into the manager route and stop being IC even though it sounds like more stress.
>>52826277
Tech? Also 98k isnt bad depending where you live though.
