dfinity is far closer than anybody expects to the ESCDA integration. while this will not kill ethereum (it does not intend to in any way), it will decimate the market caps of every ESCDA signature method chain in existence (i estimate 15% of each chains market cap YOY until 80% in total). ICP will be the only chain in existence with even the possibility to trump BTCs market cap temporarily. ETH cannot ever manage this - the fundamentals simply would not allow this. ICP will continue to integrate with each new signature method, absorbing market share with each move.

chains will be released which simply rely on ICP to store all data, somewhat skeletons of the chains we have now, but will benefit from incomparable speeds and competitive security and decentralization non-ICP storage based chain simply never will.

i doubt any of you know what your favourite chains signature method is... so i might be speaking into the void here, but this is not some small feat. the VC unlocks end in 2024-25. you have 2 years at the most to accumulate. understand that these unlocks will begin to stop being sold immediately as the end of unlocks approaches as VCs become more intelligent as to what they hold

Please justify this projection. Help readers understand why ICP is going to eat other chains 5 years from now. It has to do with the inflection point at which ICP becomes deflationary, right? How much more adoption is required, and when considering global potential user base (think TAM SAM SOM style estimation), is this feasible within a 5 year time horizon?

Personally, the most bullish signal for me is the fact that ICP is the most active blockchain github repo with 100+ developers (many with PhDs or genius-level cryptography skills) pushing commits regularly. Bitcoin integration was delivered this year as promised. Dfinity has proven they can (and will continue to) deliver, and Dom is based as hell. They have a bit of a marketing issue though. I would really love to be a fly on the wall in their internal strategy meetings, to hear their plan to achieve dominance in the Web 3.0 crypto space.

the correct market cap will be determined by the use of the chain. in the end the tokenomics are simple, money comes in as fees paid to use the chain and is distributed to operators and stakers. it’s a bit more roundabout, but that’s what it boils down to in the end as the points where money enters and exits the system.
building on ICP is amazing, and using ICP dApps is so good that as a user you forget to compare to other blockchains and start comparing to the regular web. My opinion is the experience is so good for both users and devs that more and more of the Internet will start moving over. Once a small but significant part of the Internet runs on the IC, you can start thinking about market cap.
