I am starting a sardine - silver peg using my sardine central bank.

From now on an ounce of silver is redeemable for 8 tins of deenz.

At current fiat prices of both items, this isnt a good trade, however if food price inflation continues this may be, and this sets a floor on the price of silver in terms of food purchasing power.

Are they selling that gold coin to foreigners to accumulate foreign currency or are they using that coin internally for transactions? In the first case the IMF isn't actually that wrong. That would mean they're just temporarily propping up their economy by dumping all their gold on the market, similar to what Canada did a few years ago. Once the gold is gone they're even poorer and worse off dhan before. A $2000 gold coin also sounds quite the hassle unless they're shaving off flakes like they do Venezuela. But if that's what they're actually doing, pretty based.

Real estate is already crashing. The stock market is riding on a debt bubble that the Fed is letting the air out of. We are entering a full-blown recession. World disgust with the USD has never been greater and serious alternatives are in the works that will be based on PMs. As bad as the USD is, most other currencies are worse. Three thousand years of history supports PMs as the "go to" for protection of wealth in hard times. That's why people still regularly dig up hordes of gold and silver two thousand years old AND why those hordes are STILL very valuable today.

But no good reason, really.

>>53414996
Real estate and businesses can't be moved around as easily. Or always turned into cash at will. Prime real estate can become a shithole and businesses can go bust. The kind of ownership is also way more physical with metals because your wealth fits in your bag. Some see gold and silver as a way out of the central banking debt slave money system. Some just want to build up generational wealth for their family. Among other reasons.
I think it's a good idea to have at least enough gold and silver to comfortably bootstrap yourself a living somewhere else if things go tits up. This has been a winning strategy for hundreds if not thousands of years for some clever foks.

>This general used to be comfy

It still is, provided fragile faggots aren't crying about things they don't personally enjoy. I don't give a fuck about most things other stackerbros like but instead of bitching and moaning I just don't participate in subtopics I have no stake in. If /pmg/ was constrained to only what you or I are personally interested in it would die overnight. If anime or pandas or speculating on Lizardbeth/Chuck coins or minting goofy memecoins makes anons happy then good for them, we're all on team sound-money. Just ignore what you don't care about, simple as.

They will literally lay golden eggs. Farmers will be respectable folks again.
Hopefully they stop listening to authorities too much and keep producing food. In my region EU plans to prohibit pesticides on 2/3 of the farming land because of environmental damages. That's a inderect professional ban. I understand both sides but it will lead to even higher food prices or worse. Actually I wonder if they will accept pms in a situation when both, owning pms and private production of food are things government isn't pleased to see. But since farmers always think in bigger time frames and even globohomo socialism has to end sometime, they will probably accept them. In the end it probably depends on how many motivated soldiers the government is able to maintain per citizen.

I can understand the frustration, hopium, and copium required of more and more young men in today's environment. It doesn't stop me from wanting to liquidate my second house, pay off my primary, and turn the rest into fat bars of silver and gold right now. Sad that for some young men, the Weimar hopium is their only hope for a house. Things will get worse before they get better. Having a surplus of men compared to women is not an ideal situation for the betterment of those young men. Mass death from Covid shots, or perhaps another WW will be needed to bring the population as a whole into a position for prosperity. The boomers will wring out and ride their lifelong prosperity wave to the end though, and once that's done, the system can finally implode and allow something new to be built. I guarantee it won't be as simple as buying a nice house for 3toz of gold though.

housing market is a fucking mistery
3 years ago I wanted to sell a ruined house with a garden I inherited from my grandfarther cause I thought it was beyond redemption (homeless people burnt the place down somehow and also the thing was next to a forest so it was overgrown due to years of neglect) but I thought „I could sell it for a lot more if I just patched things up”, so me and my family got to working on it, like the lazy fucks we are, the work is far from done 3 years later but the price of the houses in the area tripled since. Now I’m really itching to sell it since I'm also worried about the bubble but everyone is seemingly talking out of their asses.

I was also very against the shot and proud to have held out despite all the threats, but I have real trouble believing in actual big upheavals.

I don't honestly think there'll be a chance to buy half a city block for a handful of sovvies,
I don't think there will be a red deer event.
I think that I'll get roughly equivalent fiat when I eventually cash out, and I'll know maybe 2 or 3 older people with heart problems who died a little earlier than they otherwise might.

I just find it frustrating to see people taken away on flights of fancy about either, that cult-like excitement of getting in on the ground floor of something big IS exciting, it IS titillating, and guys like me need to temper our expectations, because I don't want to NEED an apocalypse to have some hope.

Alright so I looked up and found JM Bullion will let you use your PM for collateral but it has to be for a commercial investment.

>You're still going to have to pay back that $500k loan. At 5% interest, that would be about $2,100/mo. Then there are taxes and insurance to boot - where I live ( a city) that would come to an additional $2,500. $4,600 total payments per month is quite a hole you're digging.
I mean that's just like any other loan, it's not uniquely bad. But if there really is a financial collapse, I would still have my PMs and the bank would be gone. That's kinda the point.

Try to pick up gold here and there even if it’s fractional too, people say don’t because of the premiums in fractionals but it’s better than nothing if you’re a poorfag, you should always have some gold. If you have the money then buy it in 1oz minimum every time.

Those RMs *are* the constitutional silver of my country. Or at least they used to be. Premiums are a tad high, but at the ~37€/oz I'm buying at, not too crazy. I can get more recent DMs for 5% over spot instead but they just aren't the same. These coins are from when my country was truly trying for the last time. Given the meme value of the most anti-semitic symbol in existence on them alone it's obvious these coins are going to do well in the future, or at least keep up with general silver prices. They're almost 100 years old, too.
I prefer the 2RM because I can get more of them and I like the fractionality (8g 625 silver, 5g/0.16oz fine). They're almost small enough that buying a few eggs or some milk with one of them would make sense. I guess they would already work for both at the same time or a lot of either.
>stacking solely RMs

What you fail to understand is that in markets like housing, perceived demand is driven primarily by the creation of new money through the banking system. With the M2 falling perceived demand will fall too, regardless of population growth or people clamoring for houses they can't afford without cheap credit.
A market in which prices have been set in an easy credit environment will fall hard when the credit dries up, as it is now. Additionally, when a market has a substantial component of speculation, as does housing, the down trend will accelerate as speculators exit. Again, the speculative part of the housing bubble has nothing to do with population growth or young men clamoring for housing.

Real estate is heading into the toilet and the stock market will follow it down. The dollar may rally for a bit against other currencies, but it is doomed in the long run by reckless Federal spending and an economy that is more flab than muscle.

Thats why it will never happen, if we paid 1 trillion in gold we could then remove that 1 trillion in fiat from circulation lowering our inflation and returning purchasing power to the common man giving him more financial freedom and that is the absolute last thing that they want to happen. When a man is financially free he has the luxury of making choices and doing things because he wants to not because he has to.

In my country one could use pms as collateral for a business. If you buy your real estate with the company in the next step you can probably use the pms as collateral indirectly. You can also subtract the interest rates from your profit tax with a company.
